My question is going to be how the Chiefs handle this. Will they take a moment of silence for Belcher? Or do they just act like nothing happened? I am torn since I don't think they should do anything for Belcher, but to ignore it is also probably not the right answer. And what a hard post game interview it is going to be for Coach Crennel since you know questions about this will be raised.
I'm sure they say something about the lady killed and a moment of silence for the family. Doubt they say anything about the murderer.
NFL Network is giving this the silent screen, glossy pictures of Belcher to commercial treatment. Seems very wrong, like they can somehow wipe out the murder part of today's horrible event.
yeah, I think that's the part that a few people find objectionable.the guy was a pro football player who offed himself in a dramatic scene in front of his coaches, like a scene from a movie -- meanwhile, his victim was nobody we ever heard of.if he had stabbed her to death in a fit of rage and ran off to hide in a car trunk somewhere, or to look for the real killers, I doubt many people would have much sympathy for him.if you had reversed this, and it was the gf who shot him and then run off and killed herself, we'd all be lamenting the loss of such a great guy at the hands of some crazy nut.I doubt there'd be any moments of silence for the gf before the game, or that they'd give her a pic montage anywhere, or tweets of solidarity.the phil hartman tragedy is largely viewed as a tragedy due to the loss of phil hartman, not the crazy wife.the whole thing is clearly a terrible tragedy, the world doesn't need that pointed out, but it's kind of funny how the circumstances change the guy from an assailant to a victim in the story.
