Let's not turn this into a glory (Favre's career) or a bashing (recent events) thread. Just consider yourself a Packers fan for a moment. Look forward to the current season and beyond. Do you really want to see Favre play another season? Or, is it time to move on?

Is the Pack better off with him? Is the division weak enough and the Pack close enough to make a real run?

Are they better off without him? Is it time to look out a year or two and use this time to groom a replacement?

Favre is a playmaker and the division is WEAK! They always have a chance to win the division (as every team does), and the guy is still REALLY good!!

As a Packer fan I hope he plays this year and next. While he is not the MVP type QB he was a while back I think he still gives the Pack the best chance to win. While this may impede the developement of Rodgers or other QB's GB may look at, its still worth it to me. The real bottom line for me as a Packer is this, there will be a lifetime of football after Brett retires. I'm willing to wait a year, or even 2, for this new era to begin.

I am not a Pack fan.....that being said, I respect all that Favre has done for the game and for the Packers fans and the City of Green Bay. I wanted to see him return. I voted yes.

As much as I enjoy seeing the Pack fall flat on their ####, I would not want to see a QB like Favre go out on a bad note the way last season ended.

Good luck to Brett this year.....

I'm not a Packer fan.....but if I was, I'd want him back. Give Rodgers another year to study under one of the greatest QB's ever. And it would be nice if he could leave on a better year than last......

If I was a Packers' fan, I would be looking to the future. Re-building has to start soon, and it has to start by getting the next QB ready.

You know, when I woke up this morning I was thinking, "the thing the Shark Pool needs is another Brett Favre thread."

Can you also set up a poll on whether Dallas should have gone for TO or not?

Packer fan here. Brett is my all-time favorite player. However, his arrogance this offseason coupled with the fact that he costs the team as many games as he wins for them lately leads me to just wish he'd move on so the team can rebuild from scratch.

As a D. Driver owner.....Yes I want Brett back. I still believe he can do a great job AS LONG as his Off. Line gives him MORE time.

I agree they're a rebuilding team, but Rogers can learn just much standing on the sidelines as he could playing in the game. Other than Rogers, Favre's presence is not hurting the growth of any other player...that's, of course, if you view Rogers as being "hurt" while watching, rather than playing.

If I were a Packers fan and had not seen him live yet (it's possible) I'd want him to play so I could attend a game with him. Kind of like the Rolling Stones, not as good as they once were, but still something to tell your children about.

Regardless of whether you like how Favre has handled himself this off-season, or not, the fact remains, the man still has more talent in his left pinky, than a host of todays starting QB's.

No doubt he should have come back.

In the era of roster limits, salary caps, and free agency, anybody who cheers for a team is cheering for nothing more than laundry. The only reason I'm a Packer fan is because of Brett Favre. When he retires, I'm not sure that there is another player on the team for whom I would want to cheer. (Although A.J. Hawk is looking good so far.) The longer Favre keeps playing, the longer I know that I will be a fan of the home-state team. So yes, Mr. Favre, please keep playing. You make my Sundays without DirecTV bearable.

Lighten up, it's football conversation in May. What I'am looking for is, fantasy aside, opinions on what is good for the Packers regarding Favre. There are teams that languish for years (decades really) with inadequate QB play.PS. I'll let you do the T.O. poll.

ABSOLUTELY I want Favre back...

He's closing out his career like Michael Jordan or Willie Mays in shoulderpads.

I felt he should have gotten a game ball during the last two Bears/Packers games, but he'd probably turn it over.

I think he should play this year, unless A) he's losing games for the Packers they should be winning or B) they're out of playoff contention. At either of those points it makes sense to bring in Rodgers to see how he'll do. Pretty much the same way any other team should handle a veteran QB near the end of his career.

Touching. An interesting perspective in the era of free agency. One thing that has been difficult for me is watching my son's heroes change teams. This is something I (thankfully) never had to experience as a twelve year old.Sometimes being a fan means living through the lean times. It makes the eventual championship that much sweeter (see New England 2001).

I don't think there is any substitute for playing and I don't think Rogers is going to learn all that much from watching Favre. I think Favre gets away with a lot on the field because of his scrambling ability and his rifle of an arm.

Wanted to see him back at least one last year. Cannot say any further as I do not know how he will play this year.

But I also want to see him on a short leash...ready to get Rodgers in there when Brett struggles like he did last year.

Brought my kid sister to a game last season because she'd never had a chance to see the great Brett Favre in action. So I got a hold of some tix and we went.....to the New Orleans game.It was quite fun. 52 unanswered points makes for a jovial time. And she now has the experience to look back on.

Yeah, after year's of him just kicking the everloving #### out of everything Chicago trotted out on the field, I can see where you'd like to see him fade out so your teams would have a chance to even the score a bit. Kind of how I felt when Green Bay finally pounded the snot out of Dallas back in the 90's.
