The point of playing fantasy football is to win championships. That's goal #1. If tanking an individual game helps you achieve that goal, I don't see how it can be considered unethical.
You know, I am 100% against tanking, and I agree with PowerMonster's points wholeheartedly. I would find no fun in a league where people chose to field a team of injured players, bye week players, third stringers, etc. in order to manipulate what they believe is some fractional advantage.I play with a group of guys in our 13th year. We
compete. To us, it is my-best-against-your-best, no question.
If you are not playing for the
sport, if you are not interested in
competition, then I suppose tanking would be OK. I've considered a scenario where I might be in a huge-money league with complete strangers, where my goal is not to
compete, but to make money. In this hypothetical situation, I can see the validity of tanking.
So I suppose my question to the original poster would be: what is your primary motivation for playing this game? Is it for the sport? Or is it as Ivan suggests, to win the championship prize money?
