Shouldn't the Cowboys deal one of Barber or Choice? (1 Viewer)

They could use a WR, so why not try to get Boldin in a deal with Barber, or Edwards in a deal that includes Choice? They don't need both Barber and Choice given they have Felix Jones, and they obviously need a WR more than a 3rd RB.

I'm sure most people will disagree, but I believe Barber could very likely end up being the least talented of the Cowboys' big-3 RBs. If I was their GM, I'd definitely take a look at moving Barber.

Barber signed a large contract last off season and if traded would result in approx 10 mil dollar cap charge, and currently the Cowboys have only 10 mil in cap room so it is cost prohibitive to move Barber.

Yup, virtually impossible to move Barber. Plus, they NEEDED all three RBs last season. Who is to say they won't again this year, especially if they plan on running more...

Let'd put this issue to bed quickly.

Barber

-Dallas is 10.3 mill under the cap.

-Barber just signed a huge contract, the hit for trading him is close to 10 mil.

-Ware needs to be signed

Choice

-Was a fourth round pick

-Most teams would give no more then at best a 2nd round pick, likely a 3rd.

-Teams need 3 backs in the NFL these days, Dallas would again have to find the 3rd back.

-Both Barber and Jones are coming off injuries

-Choice has a LT cheap contract

NEITHER will happen.

Yeah, I knew about the contract, too. I just forgot about it. Good point. That would be prohibitive.I'd be less inclined to move one of the younger guys (as opposed to Barber). but I'd take a look at moving Choice if it would help the team. Anything can happen, but I'd be pretty comfortable with a Barber/Jones backfield.

Yeah, but you have to ask yourself what is Dallas going to get back for Choice?BEST case is a 2nd round pick. Even still, I would pass for Dallas.

The chances of getting enough for Choice would be slim, but if somebody was enamored with him, you never know. I'd definitely explore it. For instance, I'd give strong consideration to something like a 2nd & Choice for Boldin & a 4th if the Cards were interested.

I think Boldin will be an Eagle in the next 48 hours.

I agree that none should move. What if Felix turns out to be injury prone in the NFL? What if he can't handle 20+ carries a game if Barber was to go down? You need 3 backs in the NFL these days, Denver now knows this since they are signing virtually every FA RB. Dallas would be smart to leave their ground game the way it is.
