Shuke's 1400 favorite songs by 1400 different artists. (4 Viewers)

too deep a cut man ...
"A relatively moderate hit in the UK at number 22, it was a smash in West Germany, where it hit number 2, and a Top 10 success in several other European countries"

"The song became a favourite among fans, especially live. Shows during Depeche Mode's 1988 tour were often concluded with this song."

"The Smashing Pumpkins recorded a cover of the song and released it as a b-side on their 1994 CD single "Rocket" as well as on the Depeche Mode tribute album For the Masses."

Regardless, who cares how deep it is?  It's my favorite.  I think you need a timeout from this thread.

seems harsh ...but ok.

My ears are wrecked these days, but this doesn't sound like the version on the original 45 I had when I was a kid. Maybe the mix is different or something?

The music on this one may be the hottest Motown ever did. It ####### explodes out of the speakers. That kid could sing a little, too.

Back to my 45 copy of this (I traded a Spiderman comic for it)..... It had a helluva-looking scratch right through the disc. You could run your finger across it and FEEL the scratch. But the record played fine. I was 8 years old and thought that was magic.
