What's Toni Anne's number?![]()
she looked like just my cousin Toni Anne ... incest ain't best in our neck of the nape.

Funeral for a Friend implies the follow up of Love Lies Bleeding. Also, I forgot to mention the wildly underappreciated Grey Seal. Are you both including “Love Lies Bleeding”, because while I do love the “Funeral” intro as well, as a stand-alone I can’t see anyone calling it John’s best song.
Give Mirror Ball a listen start to finish. That might hit you in the right spots. Can I commit heresy for a moment? I don’t like Neil Young.
Yes, and Weld and Harvest.Give Mirror Ball a listen start to finish. That might hit you in the right spots.
I'm a fan so I like both, but I think I've begun to understand Rock's musical tastes a bit better and believe Mirror Ball will be right up his alley with its roots in mid-90s grunge sound and having Pearl Jam backing him in the studio.Yes, and Weld and Harvest.
They sentenced me to twenty years of boredom; For tryin' to change the system from within. I'm coming now, I'm coming to reward them. First we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin.![]()
my #1 selection from Cohen ... such a gorgeous Euro Trash vibe, and the finest lyrics he ever laid down @Man of Constant Sorrow
Nice!shuke-shuffle©
my packing list:Nice!
Can I use that when I do my next interpretive dance analysis?
Have fun - sounds like a blast coming up.
Edited.47. Leonard Cohen - Dance Me to the End of Love
Such a beautiful song. I know Hallelujah belongs in the top 50. But my wife and I chose this for our first dance at our wedding.
I read years later that Leonard was inspired to write this by the holocaust. :(
@krista4 chose Suzanne as one of her three songs.
I know otb referenced another song for its lyrics, but to me these are as good as lyrics can get. I'll let MoCS take over the analysis from here.Edited.47. Leonard Cohen - Dance Me to the End of Love

NO SPOTLIGHTINGI triple-dog dare Shuke to drop this pick: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJaKv9dgQPU
I’ve never heard it but it’s a nice song44. Sunflower Bean - Easier Said
Almost afraid to post this with the beat down I got from New Radicals yesterday.
When I hear this song, as the kids say these days, I get "all the feels". It's possible that since WNKU played this incessantly 2016-17, I subconsciously associate this song with a big turning point in my life with respect to my wife's health and well-being, that I discussed earlier.
Or, you know, I just like what I like.
Clear cut #1 GF song to my ears. I'm interested to read dissenting opinions.42. Grand Funk Railroad - I'm Your Captain/Closer To Home
What else is there to say about this other than it's awesome?
That always makes me think that Cookie Monster was driving irresponsibly.Cookie Wreck tonight

I'm exactly on this page with you here. Saw them in Boise about 5 years and it turned out to be a great show. Reelin' was the best song that night.41. Steely Dan - Reelin' in the Years
For some reason, because I'm a Phish fan I'm supposed to be a huge Steely Dan fan. I appreciate the jazz fusion sound, and I like other songs like Peg, Josie, Night By Night, Pretzel Logic, etc. But I just really can't get into them. I've never owned one of their albums.
So, yeah, I'm going with this cliche song as my pick. But you can't argue with the awesomeness of this song. Also, in the late 80's there was a syndicated radio show by the same name, and they obviously used this song as their bumper music. At the time they played a lot of 60's/70's stuff. Man, those classics seemed so old. That would be like listening to songs circa 2000 now.

one of my favorite songs growing up.39. Raspberries, The - Go All the Way

Oh come on.I don’t know if have heard that song before and it’s very interesting
I reread these lyrics just now.Suzanne takes you down to her place near the river
You can hear the boats go by, you can spend the night forever
And you know that she's half-crazy but that's why you want to be there
And she feeds you tea and oranges that come all the way from China
And just when you mean to tell her that you have no love to give her
Then he gets you on her wavelength
And she lets the river answer that you've always been her lover
And you want to travel with her, and you want to travel blind
And you know that she will trust you
For you've touched her perfect body with your mind
And Jesus was a sailor when he walked upon the water
And he spent a long time watching from his lonely wooden tower
And when he knew for certain only drowning men could see him
He said all men will be sailors then until the sea shall free them
But he himself was broken, long before the sky would open
Forsaken, almost human, he sank beneath your wisdom like a stone
And you want to travel with him, and you want to travel blind
And you think you maybe you'll trust him
For he's touched your perfect body with her mind
Now, Suzanne takes your hand and she leads you to the river
She's wearing rags and feathers from Salvation Army counters
And the sun pours down like honey on our lady of the harbor
And she shows you where to look among the garbage and the flowers
There are heroes in the seaweed, there are children in the morning
They are leaning out for love and they wil lean that way forever
While Suzanne holds her mirror
And you want to travel with her, and you want to travel blind
And you know that you can trust her
For she's touched your perfect body with her mind
WTF? No way.I don’t know if have heard that song before and it’s very interesting

I've always been partial to Hollywood (Down On Your Luck). Rocks pretty well.Agreed - great tune if a bit overplayed. Emerald from the same album is probably my favorite of theirs - packs some serious nads.
