LBs Crowell, Posey Fight For Starting SLB

Summary: For IDPers a fight to watch this offseason is brewing in Buffalo. Angelo Crowell and Jeff Posey are both trying to establish themselves in the new "Tampa-2" defense as the starting strong-side linebacker. Posey is the 30-year old eight year veteran who has been consistent if not spectacular anchor at the strong side for the last three years. Crowell, on the other hand is 24 years old and coming off a very strong campaign at WLB in relief of injured Takeo Spikes.

Personal view: The SLB position in the Tampa-2 defense is not normally going to put up huge numbers. Instead, this is the position that is meant to take on the blocking tight ends and funnel plays to the WLB, in this case pro-bowler Takeo Spikes. I'd assume this job goes to the veteran Posey.
