Sleeper defenses.... (1 Viewer)

49ers are a fantastic NFL defense, just haven't been to good for fantasy points. I'm considering picking them up & hoping the turnovers start coming.

Is Denver for real?
I think they have to be seriously considered. They gave up 7 points to a Bengal team that just put up 31 against a good Packers D. And gave up 6 (3 on a FG after the opening kickoff was fumbled) to the Browns who scored 20 points against a very good Vikings team.

New Orleans.

New philosophy, better secondary, and a high scoring offense to put pressure on teams to try and score = more turnovers. This is more for leagues that score higher in terms of turnovers/tds vs. pts/yds allowed.

I like the Bengals. They have a nice schedule for DST, and they look like they are gonna be tough. I am dumping the Titans and grabbing the Bengals tomorrow.

Depending on your league size, Arizona and SF might be on there. Both of them have pretty good schedules as well.

I would think that if your league penalizes you for yards against or high points against then the Cardinals may not be the best choice. But that's the thing with these teams. SF may be a more steady D, but they're not getting to the QB as much as ARZ or getting as many TO's, so it can really depend on your scoring system.

I'm picking up one or the other in most of my leagues.

cincy & denver available in 2 of 2 leagues, jets available in 1 of 2

currently working with chargers & redskins, just not sure which direction to go yet

I was looking over some of these teams and wondering if they are mirage or for real?

Arizona: 8 sacks, 1 int, 3 fumbles

Atlanta: 5 sacks, 2 int, 4 fumbles

Cin: 9 sacks, 0 int, 1 fumble

New Orleans: 3 sacks, 6 int, 1 fumble

SF: 4 sacks, 3 ints

Oakland: 5 sacks, 3 int, 1 fumble

Denver: 7 sacks, 3 int, 2 fumble

Which of these might be a trend, and which are the most likely to be flukey?

I'd hold off on the Saints for sure. Going against Stafford & Kolb certainly accounts for most of the int's.
