Kitna vs GB

Mcnair vs Browns (CB injuries and Palmer shredded them for 300+)

David Carr vs Redskins (has good #s 1st 2 weeks and Wash will again be without Springs, an dcan stop the run forcing lots of pass attempts)

Favre vs Lions (Grossman shredded Lions for 4 Tds)

Anyone else? What are your thoughts on above?

I'm starting Favre this week. Hopefully he'll put up good #'s like last week.

Favre has traditionally struggled indoors and even when the Packers were still playoff worthy he's had some horrible games there. So hopefully it does work for ya.I think Alex Smith could have a good outing at home vs a Philly D that is dealing with some injuries (and of course Kearse being out for the season) Plus the Niners play a whole lot better during home games.

QB1 on bye.

Favre is my QB2.

Kitna is my QB3.

The entire internet is split 50/50. Start Favre. Start Kitna. As of now, I'm going with the guy who had success in Week 2.

I like Kitna this week. He would start for me, except I will be using P. Manning instead. I've actually stressed over this decision a little this week. In the end, I can't bench Manning no matter who his opponent is.

Hey man you stole my post but thanks for the credit!! :D Favre is NOT horrible against Detroit OR in Domes. STOP ALREADY!!! Kitna may do well but he is not better than Favre. Sure he could have a great game this week, but I go with the proven talent for now until Kitna gets used to Mike Martz' 7,000 plays.

:goodposting: I'd start Alex Smith over all mentioned by the OP.

I am going to go way out on a limb here and say Chris Simms comes out and has a solid game at home against Carolina. It is against the grain and probably crazy, but they will have to throw the ball a ton to win and he and Galloway are gonna hook up this week for a couple of scores.

Strictly a hunch.

Brunell, against Houston, is the sleeper QB I picked up to replace Bledsoe. I like his chances ... a lot.
Gotta admire your guts. I wouldn't start Brunell against the University Of Houston, much less an NFL team.
starting him in two leagues this week. We will see how it goes. The odd thing is that I would prob be favored in both games so it is a chance. I see 200 yds, 2 TDs, 1 Int

McNair vs. Cleveland has to be one of the better options......

Just hope that they don't get ahead too early or else its clock killing time with the run.

But that didnt stop them last week. McNair has a solid week!

You have to start Kitna this week. If he can't get it done against GB, then he shouldn't be on your roster. I think he will have a good game. Carr vs. WASH would be my next choice.

Favre will not have a good game in Detroit. He never does. And the Detroit D will be looking to make up for last week's disaster in Chicago.

I'm taking a shot with Brunell as well. My other option was to pick up David Carr against Washington, but I see Washington going blitz happy and making Carr miserable.

Don't you HAVE TO discount Kitna versus Favre based on the fact that Kitna's offensive unit has yet to demonstrate success whereas Green Bay has (last week)?

I have to start Jamal Lewis and Derrick Mason because I have LT2, TO, Randy Moss, Bledsoe all on bye weeks.

My back up qb is Mcnair and hene I am worrying having to start Mcnair, Mason and Lewis. What if Lewis goes off gets the Tds, and the Ravens play conservative on the road once they get a comfy lead? In fact they might play Boller some in the 4th quarter I think.

Hence, it might make sense to start another QB is what I am thinking......I have Kitna on the WW....and Grossman on my roster (but do not like match up)

Welp, Plummer will be the getting all the love after Sunday. You can remove all the Grossman posts, and replace them with his name.

He's gonna blow up the Pats

There's certainly risk there, but you need to look at it in a vacuum. Meaning, regardless of other positions, who will be the best starter between McNair, Kitna, or Grossman?Note - even the term "best starter" is subject to interpretation. Is he the player you expect to get the most points from? Or the one who you feel most confident will score at least X number of points? Or the one you feel has the best shot to possibly hit X+ number of points? Regardless, there are always ways to analyze and speculate as to quarterback performance in any given week, most of which take precedence over what you are doing with other positions.Only in a true dead heat would I bench McNair due to the fact that you will start 2 other Ravens.

It is against the grain and probably crazy, but they will have to throw the ball a ton to win and he and Galloway are gonna hook up this week for a couple of scores bombs to the 3 yard line - where Caddy punches them in.

Strictly a hunch prayer.
If Simms could just stop the #$%* INTs, he'd actually be able to sustain some drives and TB could score some friggin points.

What about Leftwich versus Indy?
I may be the minority here, but I think JDR wants to run Freddy a lot to keep Peyton on the sidelines. JAX usually plays IND tough (even on the road) and their D is great. This is the only way JAX can stay in the game. The Giants ran at will over IND in week 1 and almost pulled one out. HOU tried the "pass w/ Peyton" game and got pounded. I think this game is lower scoring than most expect - maybe 20-17, and Indy should find a way to win @ home. I'd like to see Lefty go off, since I'm starting him myself, but while I see decent yardage game 250ish, the TDs will be tougher (maybe 1).

I drafted Brunell specifically to play in this game (Bledsoe's bye week) and I don't see a better choice available - go Santana gooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I was hoping this thread would help me since both my drafted QBs are not doing well (Delhomme and Green)

Many of the guys mentioned in this thread are available.

FBG's has different views about Kitna and Farve depending on if you are looking at the projections, Offensive Sleepers and Passing Matchups.

I am leaning towards Farve, although at -2 an interception, he could be a scary pickup. I am also 0-2 though, and I think he has the best chance of outscoring Kitna, Smith, Simms, Carr and Brunell.

Edit: Pulled the trigger and picked up Farve.... :banned:

Average is bull with stats like these, i think it would be more important to look at say...the median. perhaps even the mode and the standard deviation. it's worth trying if your trying to prove your point so bad.

If Brunell can make it to week 6 as a starter, he's the perfect compliment for Peyton Manning's bye (home v. Ttians). I'm startin' him this week also in place of Bledsoe in one league, possibly ahead of Grossman/Culpepper in another.

:lmao: , if you could get your nose out of the algebra book for a minute...why don't you join our discussion about FOOTBALL.OH, and for your information. Average, in this case being used as a historical statistic to prove the validity of my point, is EXACTLY why this theory is bunk. :bye:

I'll start Warner vs. STL at home, but I wouldn't have any qualms about starting my #2 (Kitna) this week. If he doesn't light it up this week, he never will. My only reservation is their weapons. Cover Roy W, and who's left? Furrey? If Hakim is ready to work the slot, then I like them more.

What about Leftwich versus Indy?
Jacksonville has thrown the ball more this season than in years past (granted, we're two weeks into the season) and Lefty's had some decent performances against Indy over the years.
Code:
COMP/YDS/TD/INT9/11/05 @IND 16/198/0/010/24/04 @IND 23/300/2/110/03/04 IND 29/318/1/011/09/03 IND 12/179/1/0 1TD RUSHING9/21/03 @IND 4/32/1/0 (INJURED)
Nothing stellar, but those could be pretty good numbers for a bye-week filler.

I like Farve because of what the Bears did to the Lions. How Farve has played in the past really doesn't mean he will stink again. Sure he might suck but did you expect that Alexander was going to play so great in week one, no but it happened. I like the upside of Farve, sure he will throw some interceptions but you have a chance to get three touchdown passes. I am playing Greg Jennings at wide receiver (just because M. Jones and TJ Housh and it doesn't look like either will play) and think that he will get at least three long passes thrown to him. If they connect on one - he will be a steal. But I like the upside of Farve.

As much as I'm probably jinxing my season by it, I'm going with Kitna for the next 3 weeks over Plummer. To Kitna's credit, he hasn't been throwing INTs (which is -2 apiece in our league) and has faced above-average defenses to date. I've been winning despite Plummer's problems so at least it shouldn't be a step backwards.
