Sleeper Wr's this week (1 Viewer)

I have some injury issues with Berrian as my #3 and was thinking of going Hixon, Burleson, or Crayton. Are you guys big on any sleeper wr's this week like L. Robinson, Higgins, Kelly, or Williamson?

I like Burleson as a sleep of the guys you mention, although I don't know their matchups off the top of my head. I like Crayton too, especially if Roy Williams doesn't play. I liked Robinson in preseason but with Avery back I am not sure how many looks he will get. Higgins? No. Bad offense and it isn't even clear he is a starter and he did nothing in preseason. Kelly? Maybe. Williamson? No. It is SO RARE that a WR breaks out this far into his career. If a guy has the dropsies he always has the dropsies. I will believe it when I see it with Williamson.

I'm not one of these huge Percy Harvin nuts you'll find on these boards, but I think he could be a good play this weekend. The Browns' defense is poo-poo, Bernard Berrian is banged-up, and Brad Childress might want to give defensive coordiantors something to think about in upcoming games. I think they try to get Harvin involved this weekend in a myriad of ways.

Josh Morgan. AZ gave up the most td passes last season if I remember correctly. Most people are assuming SF will be playing from behind this game.

I like the propects of a shootout in the Packers-Bears game at Lambeau. So a guy like Earl Bennett is a good play as Cutler tries to match Rodgers.

Here's my list in order of best plays:

Urban AZ--Just read on KFFL Boldin is having second thoughts of playing with the bad hammy this week, Beaston's banged up, this seems like a $$$$$ play.

A. Davis Hou--I don't think Walter goes this week, and anyone getting single coverage with Schaub airing it out is a good play.

Stokley Denver--Anyone think Marshall is "game ready", I see a game with no real defense, and lots of open field for Mr. Stokley. He does catch a nice short pass by the way

Harvin MN--BB is big time banged up, Chilly will show off his new toy in this game. And Favre does have a nice outside deep ball with his fixed arm(we hope) I smell a long TD to Percy in this game.

Bradley K.C.--Lets see playing at Ravens, on the road, hmmmm I smell garbage TD to Bradley, even if they have to start Mickey Mouse at QB for KC

Deon Butler SEA--This kid is the real deal, they will work him into the game plan. I see a 40 yard td for Deon against the Lams.

Murphy Raiders--Someone has to catch a TD for Oakland, 30 yards and a TD

"Even though Seattle kept only five receivers, it does have some quality options behind Branch, currently the No. 3 guy, in rookie Deon Butler and Ben Obomanu. So having those guys to fill in short term for Branch could influence Mora’s decision.

“I am comfortable with the depth because we have a healthy Nate Burleson, we’ve got T.J. Houshmandzadeh added to the mix, we’ve got a Deon Butler who looks like through the preseason he has really matured and looks like we can count on him,” Mora said.

“And if Deion (Branch) were not to be able to play, Ben (Obomanu) is fine in that position. So yes, I am comfortable with the depth there.”

GAGE. HENRY, Morgan, Coles, BUTLER, JAVON WALKER, Urban, Jenkins, Bennett, Hurd, ANDRE DAVIS, WILLIAMSON, RICE, Meachem, KELLY, Robiske

I don't get the Nicks love...with S. Smith, Hixon, Manningham and THEN Nicks...he will have to catch a 60 yd Td to be in the statline. Just too many mouths to feed. Similar to New Orleans.

I like Sydney Rice with Berrian likely out and Malcolm Kelly vs a suspect NYG secondary.

(RotoWire) After an impressive preseason that included four deep completions - three of which went for touchdowns - Nicks will apparently be an integral part of the Giants' offense this weekend, the Newark Star-Ledger reports. "He's playing it right now," coach Tom Coughlin said when asked at what point Nicks will play a "major role" in the offense. "He's involved right now in everything we're doing. We basically have four guys that will do a lot of rotating and a lot of playing."(KFFL) Mike Garafolo, of the Star-Ledger, reports New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said the Giants will rotate four wide receivers during their Week 1 game. WRs Domenik Hixon, Steven Smith, Mario Manningham and Hakeem Nicks will be part of the rotation.

Looks like they're doing a 4 WR try-out, in-game style. IMO Nicks is the most talented (has the most upside too) of the bunch; he's getting the opportunity to prove it.

I doubt Coughlin would be going this route if he had a lot of confidence in Hixon and S Smith.

Miles Austin. Forgotten man in Dallas with all the talk of the Witten, Williams, Bennett, and the running game. Nursing a injury, but if he's healthy he goes 4 rec for 140 with a deep TD.

Bears secondary is pretty bad, and their best DB (Tillman) saw no game action in the pre season

I think GB tries to spread them out making one of Jordy Nelson or James Jones a realy solid play. Which one of those two is a crap shoot, but one of them is probably good for 50 and a touch.

Laurent Robinson.

The Seahawks secondary may be the worst in the league and they don't have a good enough pass rush to protect them.

Robinson is a pretty good sleeper for the year but I especially like him in Week#1. He had a pretty good rookie year before missing most of last year with injuries. He has had a very good camp and is entrenched as a starter right now and the other starter(Avery) will draw most of the other teams best cornerbacks. I'd be higher on him if the Rams QB situation was better but I still think he could be a 800 + yard receiver this year.

I think Robinson can get 80 yards and a score this week.

BTW, Robinson also hails from Washington State so it's like a hometown game for him.

I'm real tempted to play Hixon. I know people have alot of questions about him, but he produced last year when he played and should be the main target on the play action passes. He is technically the #1 even though Smith, Nicks, and Mannigham will see plenty of time. The rest of these guys are either they 3rd or 4th option on their team.

I like Burleson, S.Rice, K.Washington (or D.Williams whoever you see as the #3 in Balt), Michael Clayton (hmmm) and L.Robinson.

two sleepers i have a choice of are laurent robinson and troy williamson, both preseason darlings i got for nothing but feel pretty good about. sad to be starting one of them week 1 but maybe they'll pan out.

hahaha.. any NFL WRs not mentioned. If Boldin is out I like Urban. If Berrian is out, I like Rice. Morgan should be OK.
