Slow Injury Season (1 Viewer)

I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop and a bunch of really great-performing FF players to drop. I mention this because it's usually around week 4-5 that we have about 12 posts in the SP about how this is the WORST injury year EVER!!!

Seems like this has been a relatively quiet (as far as injuries go) season.

1. Brady : boom, huge loss

2. Westy : normally dinged every season anyway

3. Colston : 1/2 season injury, not the end of the world

4. Boldin : couple games, maybe more?

5. ???

OTOH, I don't play in an IDP...correct me if I'm wrong. Seems like a LOT of D players are going down. Not exactly the big-hitters, as I don't think a ton of DB's have gone out, but quite a plethora of DL and LB's have been getting clobbered.

Anyway, thought it might be fun to discuss how "clean" this season has been as a whole (through 5 weeks of football).

Yeah, that thought was going through my head as I posted this. I think my whole train of thought here is the lack of posts complaining. Added to the fact that I'm a very active WW owner in all my leagues. There just has NOT been very many "diamonds in the rough" discovery moments this season. Normally by now there have been 5-10 players that are getting major opportunities due to injuries to veteran starters. It just doesn't seem to be happening much, if at all, this season. Odd.

Although, perhaps Godell's crack-down and emphasis on player safety is really getting results? Personally I thought it was fluff and a pie-in-the-sky dream. Maybe there's something to it??

Agreed. I said the same thing this week and the week before. Only 2 significant injuries so far are Brady & Colston

Angelo Crowell, Sean Jones, Adrian Wilson, Terrence McGee and EJ Henderson aren't exactly small potatoes in IDP.Tom BradyMarques ColstonWillie ParkerLTWestbrookBurlesonLots of injuries out there, just depends on who is on your roster I guess.

Im talking about significant injuries. Not ones of the 1-2 week variety like Parker & Westbrook and not ones where the player plays less effectively like LT and not ones to barely significant fantasy players like Burleson. Im talking about injuries like last year SJax, McAllister, Brown, LJ. It was a bloodbath at this pt last yr.

I have LT, Colston, and Shockey, so it certainly doesn't seem like a slow injury season to me!

:wall: :wall:
That's nothing. On one team, I have err, I mean had Brady, Romo, Colston, Galloway, Burelson, the San Diego D before Merriman shut it down, and I am sure a few others that I already had to drop to find a player who might see the field. Heck, even when I find a guy like Hixon last week, he still only gets in one half. On paper, my team looked awesome, easily a championship contender. Now, not so much.

I've thought the opposite. This year seems to have more injuries combined with probably the most busts I've seen in a long time. Big time players aren't just playing mediocre, they're tanking hard.

It's blaringly loud when the guys you mentioned are all on your roster, believe me.

That might as well have been an injury to Moss as well.
