Wat?Yea, clearly being a resident of Maryland is an automatic no gun for you reason.

If it makes you feel any better, Illinois was on the no sell list also.I wouldn't sell a gun to someone from Maryland.
Duh!If it makes you feel any better, Illinois was on the no sell list also.
I can taste your tears from here.Duh!
All the people I know in Illinois are paranoid ####### loons.
They let everyone but those living in California, Illinois, Maryland, and New York to. Plus with the new laws people from restrictive states will be flooding Michigan to buy guns, so there is that.I'm fine with not allowing outsiders to buy guns. We might have been the arsenal of democracy but those days have past.
Part of the grand plot against liberals? They let everyone but those living in California, Illinois, Maryland, and New York to. Plus with the new laws people from restrictive states will be flooding Michigan to buy guns, so there is that.
I'm a concealed carry guy (NY), and I could get behind this. If guns were completely outlawed, that would be fine with me. But that genie isn't going back in the bottle anytime soon. So until then, I'll legally carry, and vote for tighter regulation.Doctor Detroit said:Did I say people who use firearms are unsafe? My work history is military and law enforcement, I know thousands of gun owners. I'm a gun owner.
What I said is you have no reason to have a conceal carry permit. They should not be allowed in any state.
What tighter regulation would make you choose not to cc?I'm a concealed carry guy (NY), and I could get behind this. If guns were completely outlawed, that would be fine with me. To answer other points in other posts, there's no overt paranoia / fear here. I do not carry one racked, so getting into a quick draw gunfight is out. If I'm mugged, the mugger can have my wallet. I'm not looking to save the day in the supermarket, triumph in some road rage argument, or anything like that. I carry because we now live in a world where people get shot in movies, in a club, in school, and in church. If I'm in a place where something like that starts, I feel my gun gives my wife and I a better chance at leaving than not having one.
None, until they are 100% outlawed. I'm actually fine w/ NY's way - it's tough to get a CC here, and illegal guns carry a pretty stiff penalty (especially in NYC, right Plaxico?) I'd personally like to see every state adopt NY's gun laws (in general - there's a silly thing or two I don't agree with). What tighter regulation would make you choose not to cc?
I'm licensed to carry and a gun enthusiast, but I disagree with this. There needs to be some training. We don't let people drive without some training. I want some people to have some training.Ilov80s said:Speaking of loons, Michigan House has passed a bill that allows concealed weapons without a permit and has eliminated all mandatory training for carrying a concealed weapon.
Ain't that the truth. I bought the Kahr before firing it. Took it to the range and sold it to a buddy a few weeks later. Easy to conceal but I never wanted to fire the thing which meant I wouldn't practice with it. Can't carry something I'm not going to practice with.Recommeded. I've owned one for about 6 months. It's my go-to carry gun, replacing a Ruger LCR. I don't like the 8 round magazine as I find it makes it tougher to conceal well. The 7 round magazine is too short for larger hands, but that is easily fixed with a pinky extension you can buy on Amazon. Mine has factory night sights which I really like. I'm not as accurate with it as I am with my full size M&P, but it's close. It's obviously not as soft shooting as the full size either, but the recoil is night and day better than Kahr's single stack 9mm. No malfunctions after a couple hundred rounds. I use a Comp-Tac Infidel Ultra Max IWB holster, which I'd also recommend.
I know a lot of people that carry and they all think this is nuts. Now I live in the more liberal SE part of the state. Out west and up north, it seems extreme conservatism has become the norm. My friend recently completed the training for his ccw and he was appalled at the people applying. He said lots of them were clueless how to use their weapon and were very gung ho to stop crime and be a hero.I'm licensed to carry and a gun enthusiast, but I disagree with this. This is what I'm talking about. My instructor spent a good long time explaining what would happen if we even pointed a gun at someone. That it would likely cost $50K minimum in legal fees. And that's if you get off. Basically tried scare the weekend warriors from trying to be John Wayne and clean up the town. It's more than just being able to hit a target (that's not shooting back) and being able to reload. It's respecting the weapon and always assuming its loaded. Never pointing it at anyone, even if unloaded. That sort of simple stuff that people need to know.I know a lot of people that carry and they all think this is nuts. Personally, I do not like a safety on a carry pistol. Racking it is my safety.Went and checked out a number of guns today. I did like the S&W Shield. I can see why it is a popular cc choice.
I also liked the Walther CCP. Anyone have any experience, feedback, thoughts, etc on this weapon?
Does that Walther have the mag release built into the trigger guard? I fired their polymer 9 right before I bought the Glock 42 (about 2 months before the 43 came out), and LOVED the way it shot compared to all the other polymer 9's I tried at the range that day, but that goofy mag release made me go for the Glock. Every other automatic pistol I have ever fired has the mag release in the same place. Didn't want to learn to do it differently.Went and checked out a number of guns today. I did like the S&W Shield. I've heard good reviews as well, but haven't tried one myself yet. Next time I hit the range (maybe on Friday), I might test fire a few new guns including that one. I didn't like the way the 1.0 shot at all. I liked the way it felt, looked, everything, but not the way it shot.Anyone fire the new 2.0, with redesigned trigger? Everything I'm seeing is the changes with the 2.0 trigger, grip, etc are well received.
LOVE me some Ruger. I have 2.bcat01 said:Just got an email from Ruger advertising the EC9s. It is basically a 9mm LCP. The MSRP is $299.
