I'm one 'Skins fan who'd love to have Smoot back for the right price. Minny's mistake was overestimating his talent and correspondingly overpaying to get him. Smoot of course didn't help himself with the whole Love Boat thing. He's a good CB2 and 'Skins fans have nothing but good memories with him. I just drafted Wiggins in dynasty as a TE3 and would love to see him in Carolina. He's basically the Charles Barkley of TE's, the Round Mound of Touchdown.

Don't the Jets have enough CB2s? Though they did like him and compete for him when he went to Minny. But I think he left a deal on the table and Tannenbaum might remember that and hold it against him. Who knows if any bridges were burned in that episode?

Agreed. The Vikings CBs are set at #1 and #2 and won't pay (or overpay in Smoot's case) for CB in FA. They have 2 decent projects in Edwards and Whittaker. Now S is a different story, and the team will bring in a least one guy via draft or FA ot compete depending on what they do with DSmith and an aging Sharper.I know they like Blue and Tank, but if they can find the right guy......I'm just saying the $ will be spent elsewhere. WR and DE.I'd love a run at Joey Porter but the team would have to break the bank as Joey has no ties or motivation to come to Minnesota.*editted to include Joey, so you know which Porter I'm talking about*

I think that was Winfield who had a deal in principal with the Jets and then took off for the Vikes. Smoot on one leg is better than Barrett or Miller. We need real cover guys and Smoot would be a nice upgrade.
