SNF Game Packers vs. Vikings (1 Viewer)

You don’t go either way Al.  You take the FG because you have the timeout and 2 minute warning.  FG is the only choice.

I think the decision to go for it is a lot closer than what people on either side of the fence are making it out to seem.        I think going for it is the right call but it's not cut and dry.

What's funny is, had the Vikings kicked the FG to make it 27-14, and then the Packers still drove down there, McCarthy probably still kicks a FG to make it 27-17.

Something isn’t right...it’s been like that for a while this year.

Despite the 102 qbr, he’s missed a lot of passes this year he hasn’t in the past.
Ya, it’s called playing through a serious knee injury. If only he had a creative coaching staff to take the pressure being only on his shoulders. Can’t believe there are people defending McCarthy. Then again, there were Hue Jackson defenders. Just preposterous.

Why onside kick when it is like 5% chance when you have basically 2 timesouts counting 2 min warning.

The difference is, if GB scores, stop MN, they need a FG to send it to OT.
And if Minnesotta converted and scored 7 instead?

They woulda been up 17...THREE scores. FG or missed conversion was still two scores, and if missed conversion, you added 20 yards to GB's drive, making their chance at a FG drive not much better then the odds of a TD drive from the 25. Odds of converting a 4th and 2 for an offense that's been clicking? 70%? 80? Keep in mind as well that while GB kicked a FG here, if down 13 they would have gone for it, with also a good chance of converting. EVERYTHING would be different.

It was the right call.

Yeah cause clearly tramon williams doesn't know better than to get away from the ball on a punt. That's on McCarthy? What would you have McCarthy to do?
Hold the team accountable.  Starting with the franchise QB who isn't running the offense, and is consistently missing reads on open receivers (for 1st downs) in a quest to hit a home run.

It's a lost art. Seems like half the kickers don't even know how to kick the onside kick
Rules have changed which makes it impossible almost to get an onside kick the guys do not get a running start which makes it impossible almost.

His knee is fine today. How long does that excuse work? For the record, I’m not defending the coach and couldn’t care less what the Packers do.

Moot point now but it was stupid to onside kick it because they let them be possible in FG range if they got to the 32 yard line.

Game over now that sucks I wanted OT.

None of what I said is saying it’s all on him (but that kiss to Adams was on him and not McCarthy) or defending McCarthy.

McCarthy should take a prop plane back after being canned in the locker room.  But there is blame that needs to be leveled at Rodgers. The knee isn’t an excuse at this point.

Easier said than done...what can any coach do to hold Rodgers accountable?

Later Mike. I’m sure some dumb defensive coach will enjoy your scripted non-innovative #### next year as an OC or you’ll find some cush studio job where you can suggest coaches shouldn’t go for it on 4th down and that kicking the FG is the right call.

Vikings should do well if they get healthy. O line is the weakness...but the D can play and Cousins does well.

Should be a better team than Chicago overall.

I'm not saying anything packer fans don't already know but how the hell does Aaron Rodgers keep getting shut down in the 2nd half if games? The guy is shell shocked this year.
