Eh, it's possible the throws aren't as bad as we think and the receivers just didn't time things right, no?I’m talking about bad throws. The wr is irrelevant at that point.

TBH, it wasn’t the guys I quoted I was suggesting we’re defending McCarthy. I should have made that clear. It’s also his rookie WR’s. As great an athlete MVS (and ESB) are, they are late round rookie WR’s being asked to make this work. Along with 60 yr old Jimmy Graham whose knees are scrambled eggs, this is not a good recieving corps outside of Adams.None of what I said is saying it’s all on him (but that kiss to Adams was on him and not McCarthy) or defending McCarthy.
McCarthy should take a prop plane back after being canned in the locker room. But there is blame that needs to be leveled at Rodgers. The knee isn’t an excuse at this point.
Somehow coaches like BB figure out ways to hold star players accountable.Easier said than done...what can any coach do to hold Rodgers accountable?
Guys like Tom Brady and Drew Brees manage somehow to throw to a bunch of nobody receivers.TBH, it wasn’t the guys I quoted I was suggesting we’re defending McCarthy. I should have made that clear. I’m fairly certain that 3000 yds and 1 int at this point in the season is managing with nothing WR’s.Guys like Tom Brady and Drew Brees manage somehow to throw to a bunch of nobody receivers.
The deep passes to MVS were working for several games. Why aren't those in the game plan anymore? Adams is not a deep threat - you need someone to stretch the field like Jordy did. A quick or tough middle of field WR like Edelman, Amendola or Landry would also help. Rodgers has always held onto the ball a long time and been sacked a lot.TBH, it wasn’t the guys I quoted I was suggesting we’re defending McCarthy. I should have made that clear. Division? They're winning it all this season. No contest.Skol! Can't believe the Bears are in division lead. Onward Vikings.
Maybe that's his problem though? Too concerned about QB rating and not willing to take a chance?Guy has had less than 89.5 QBR one time this season. What do you people want? Should Rodgers throw on a cape and fly around to catch his own passes?
Maybe. However, I agree more with THIS take than I'd like to.I’m fairly certain that 3000 yds and 1 int at this point in the season is managing with nothing WR’s.
Yeah this isn’t about Rodgers. This team has been poorly managed for years. Rodgers has made up for it.Guy has had less than 89.5 QBR one time this season. What do you people want? Should Rodgers throw on a cape and fly around to catch his own passes?
Possible, but not likely for two reasons. First, he’s missing Adams as well as the young guys. Secondly, he’s never been afraid to “scold” a wr on the field. He hasn’t really been doing that.Eh, it's possible the throws aren't as bad as we think and the receivers just didn't time things right, no?
Lol. You don’t know how lucky your franchise has been for 25 years.Maybe that's his problem though? Too concerned about QB rating and not willing to take a chance?
Skimmed it, so I won’t pretend I got into the details. This reminds me of Big Ben at the end of Arians tenure. They need to bring someone in that gets Rodgers to revert back to timing and not taking sacks. I get the insinuation though that surface looks good but there is an underlying problem. They talk about Mike McCarthy’s incompetence and, really, that should be the focus. Yes, Rodgers is not a young man and nor does he probably have the mobility he did in his 20’s. The sacks and holding onto the ball waiting for the big play is something I’ve seen corrected in the past as long as the coaching staff is willing to correct it even if they piss off the player.Maybe. However, I agree more with THIS take than I'd like to.
Gotcha. Thanks for the explanations. I don't follow the team and appreciate the insight from someone who does.Possible, but not likely for two reasons. First, he’s missing Adams as well as the young guys. Secondly, he’s never been afraid to “scold” a wr on the field. He hasn’t really been doing that.
I wouldn’t write them off so quickly. On any given Sunday, they have the talent to beat any team in the NFL.Vikes shoulda had this by 14+. A win is great but again - not impressed with the quality. This is a 1-and-done team unfortunately.
I agree.I wouldn’t write them off so quickly. On any given Sunday, they have the talent to beat any team in the NFL.
Yeah I know how fortunate Packers fans have been for the last 25+ years. Not absolving McCarthy of any blame here. He should be gone after the season. But to lay it ALL on McCarthy isn't right either. Lots of blame to go around. Williams needs to get away from the punt. He's an old wily veteran that should know this, what is McCarthy to do there? Montgomery ignored the coaches instructions and took the ball out of the endzone and fumbled. Not sure how McCarthy gets the blame there. And Rodgers, for whatever reason, has not been sharp this year. Not only on his accuracy but also with his reads. If Rodgers is going to stand up at his press conferences and take pot shots at the headcoach he better play like a 134 million dollar QB.Lol. You don’t know how lucky your franchise has been for 25 years.
Wow. That's unbelievable. That's gotta be a record, right?Last time the Vikings had the same starting QB play the whole season 2 years in a row?
1972/1973 Tarkenton.

As I said...easier said than done...and you are bringing up the best coach...hard to bench mark against him. And how does he really hold Brady responsible?Somehow coaches like BB figure out ways to hold star players accountable.
To go beyond some stat and see the passes he has missed. To see where he has taken sacks vs throwing into any coverage...to see the misses like the deep ball to Adams and others.Guy has had less than 89.5 QBR one time this season. What do you people want? Should Rodgers throw on a cape and fly around to catch his own passes?
What does it tell you that all these veteran players are ignoring their coach?Yeah I know how fortunate Packers fans have been for the last 25+ years. Not absolving McCarthy of any blame here.
