Snowmageddon 2013 (1 Viewer)

Re-posting from GMs thread. My power is out. Tried going to a friend's house...got stuck getting out of the driveway...20 minutes later I'm out, get to his place and his power had just #### the bed...coming back home couldn't get the car up the hill so it's parked 2 blocks away...trudged home soaking wet, freezing cold, and filled with a rage only MoP can relate to. Had an offer of drinking and "board games" from the waitress that wants the Homer-lovin, but I was just too pissed to go back out. But hey, at least I have beer to help me freeze to death. FML
Homer is on long island and we haven't hung out? wtf
Way to pay attention, guy.
Srsly. I even offered him and the family a place to crash after Sandy and I'm just now getting the "oh, you're in the neighborhood" shtick. Pfft.

Oh, and I heard a tree crash into the side of the house earlier. It was where the stairs are so thankfully no windows involved. This is way worse than Sandy. Good times!

Have we gotten to the part of the thread where oats is shopping of for a 100 megawatt generator to run his juicer yet?

You appear to have all the essentials. You'll be okay. For a little while longer at least. I think.
HE'S DOWN TO LITE BEER!!!
True, but I don't think he had access to Keystone like the warmer among us so ill grant him a pass.

Suffolk County Police Scanner fascinating right now, police getting stuck ALL OVER. Never mind the civilians. No link I'm on my smart phone but interesting stuff.

Lost power around 8:30 last night and woke up at 2 to get my son and put him in bed with us. Daughter is sleeping soundly in her crib with several blankets. My house is absolutely freezing but did get a fire started so hoping the will help. My rough estimate tells me we got a #### load of snow but the is an unofficial total.

Last night before I went to bed I snowblowed over 12 inches from driveway. There is probably more than that back on the driveway now and still snowing. :(Looks like it will be close to the 25-30 inches they predicted which I think is the most snow in a single storm since the Blizzard of 78.

I'm in Centereach/Selden Long Island where the local news is reporting 32inches Ill ventu out with the tape measure soon

@breakingstorm: Record snowfall of 29.3 inches set in Portland, Maine, breaking previous record of 27.1 inches set in 1979; more snow expected - @usNWSgov

Good morning, America! It's a winter wonderland here.I can get out because I have been pushing the front door out every few hours to clear the snow drifts.

Any barhopping planned sans kids?

Damned travel ban is still in effect but Wachusett Mountain is open for business. The webcam shows people there. I want to go but I'm afraid I'll get tagged if I try to get out on Route 2 to head out there.

Should be great. The snow is nice and powdery.

Whoa! Broken trees everywhere and at least twenty inches of heavy wet snow. Somehow we still have power so generator and fireplace are not being used. We played a three on three hockey game last night in the middle of it bit now we need to clear the rink again of about ten more inches. The lightning last night was crazy and at one point it flashed for at least five seconds straight. This was a monster storm. Cranston is buried. I hope all the hotties are ok.

They call that thundersnow.

Getting ready to snowblow this crap. How much of a #### am I if I don't help my neighbor out? Poor sap only has a shovel.
Should be no problem at all. When I lived in the Big House, pre-divorce, I went over my neighbor's house after finishing my driveway. #####y wife was outside shoveling. She was pissed to see me coming her way and waved me off. I went back home and never offered to help them again.

About 2 and a half feet in the Hartford, CT area. My rations are down to a box of Honey Combs and a bag of bugles, (who buys bugles?)

I got some of that thunder snow filmed on my sony mini disc dvd cam. Any idea how to convert that so I can put on the computer?

If they live in the northeast and don't have a snowblower, that's their own fault. Two exceptions.....if they're elderly or young, you're both single and something you want to get with, then I would help.

We got hammered last night....and we got a crap load of snow
Yeah, I was among the storm deniers thinking it was all just a Jim Cantore wet dream. But, I live in the south end of Boston, and it's pretty incredible what I woke up to this morning. It's like being at a ski resort.
