A few hours ago we were getting 10+ inches of snow in Philly. Weather.com has us at about 1 - 3 overnight and maybe another inch tomorrow. ??

A&S bagel on Hempstead Tpke, FTWI've got a killer and unassuming spot on Jericho Tpke. They freeze well.Do you have enough bagels?Just did my first shoveling. Looked like a good 4-6 inches already out there, and I understand it's supposed to get a bunch worse.
Curious what Otis' bagel place is, though. Not nearly the number of really good places as even 10-15 years ago.
May have to make a run in the morning.
Tube steakImpressive...I usually use a grill. How hot does it get in your boxers?I just grilled a ribeye poolside in my boxers. Carry on.
weird. I can't think of any reason why.Something is decidedly effed up with the weather this winter. Nebraska is usually brutal during the winter and we had high 50s today. East Coast going to get 3 feet of snow. Not complaining, but things are all out of whack.

T-shirt weather in January going on up there.Almost 60 in Seattle today. Worst ski season since I have lived hereWell above freezing in Minnesota. Snow has melted. Looking forward to an early spring.![]()
Historic event!! We've never seen anything like it.This is so stupid.
I've got another 4-8" coming this way. I hope the roof holds.Love the "I don't see it now so it's not coming!!" crowd. May not be the end of the world scene some might have painted it to be but it's far from over.
We need some thunder snow.Historic event!! We've never seen anything like it.This is so stupid.
:jealous: wife's from Sanbornton. Wish I were there!Checking in from NH, just north of Concord. Im making careful preparations for the winter sto, and, accordingly, getting hammered.
It depends. If the snow is dry and powdery then you can do fewer passes. If it is the heavy stuff then more passes will be easier on your body.I'm always on the fence when it comes to shoveling. Do multiple passes or wait until the worst is over and do one big one?
He screwed the pooch last year, he's trying to right the ship this year. This is less exciting for us in Boston. De Blasio followed the standard play book we use here for the bigger storms.
we have a vacation house in Sanbornton on Hermit Lake:jealous: wife's from Sanbornton. Wish I were there!Checking in from NH, just north of Concord. Im making careful preparations for the winter sto, and, accordingly, getting hammered.
MA contracts out some of the snow and ice removal. A lot of landscaping companies and people who own the right equipment make good money every time we have a big storm.http://i.imgur.com/TfMMfgI.jpg
This image sums it up... They've said "historic blizzard" 7x in the last 9 minutes... They're talking about the "nearly impossible" job the NYC Sanitation Dept will have.
As much as I rip on TWC, I owe them for an early day out of the office today, a day off tomorrow, and we'll prob have to deal with only 6 inches in NYC and no more than 12 in L.I., if that.
That's exactly what I was thinking.Thunder Snow is the name of my new band.

I broke down and did a pass. About half a foot, mostly from drifting, very dry and powdery. I wish I was going skiing tomorrow! I dumped some ice melt out and I have clear walks and stairs. We will see what the night has in store. It depends. If the snow is dry and powdery then you can do fewer passes. The serious snow will get to Boston in maybe another hour. That's exactly what I was thinking.Thunder Snow is the name of my new band.![]()
In all seriousness, I hope the media is hoisted upon its own petard. But this is nothing new. It's been going on for at least a decade or more. I hope we get six-twelve, and I can manage the house. That would be nice.
you know the heavy #### isn't supposed to start until laterIt appears:
NY/NJ (west of Long Island) looking at 5-10 inches depending on location, L.I. prob between 10-15.
New England12-24, depending on location.
Philly basically nothing.

I actually bought my landscaper a plow today when he told me he had 40 accounts and a snowblower. He had a monster truck with no plow. He will pay me back from just this storm no doubt.MA contracts out some of the snow and ice removal. BlizzardmobileIt's funny watching the CNN broadcast holding firm to this. Coop is out there on what looks like a balmy evening talking about a blizzard. He and Erin Burnett may as well be out there drinking Coronoas. Then Don Lemon just drove by in the "Blizzardmobile." It looks like a scene from Baywatch. All the while, that lunatic Chad Meyers is out there trying desperately to keep up appearances by talking about the major snow event in Boston.
They're all so embarrassing.
They're seriously calling it that. In quotes and everything. I just can't.BlizzardmobileIt's funny watching the CNN broadcast holding firm to this. Embarrassing is the right word. I'm pretty happy I still have power and can watch the second half of Celts-Jazz. I love Marcus Smart! They're seriously calling it that. In quotes and everything. The heavy snow starts in Boston around midnight. Last chance for this to be "historic" before it blows out to sea in record speed. It's funny watching the CNN broadcast holding firm to this.
