So...I ####### MOVED to... Dallas? NOW ALSO THE ALL THINGS DALLAS THREAD. Review, ##### and compliment in here. (1 Viewer)

I've only been to Dallas twice, but had a blast both times.  I like Texans a lot.

Will look you up when I swing through next time, sir.

When is the happy hour?

Next Tuesday good?

Adair's?  Rustic? The Loon (new location)?* Other?

*I've never tried the new Loon, but would be interested.
Im only here Mon night next week... possibly wed or thursday the following week?

@Joe T - next Wednesday the 15th happy hour, The Loon? I'm like two blocks away.

BTW, loving this move more and more. Chillin' on my patio, shrub plantings to my left and right - pretty big patio (6x13?). Various sized palm trees bristle slightly in the wind with the blue hue of the lit pool reflecting in waves across the building's facade.

A neighbor chick is on her own patio next to me, but it's seriously too dark and far to see anything. Asian maybe?  Will find out I'm sure.

Place is kept in great shape (one of the reasons I moved here) too. Perfect night to chill outside... surprisingly "pretty" surroundings to boot.

If you can hold off a week I can make it. I have to go un #### a situation in Korea next week.
Im out on business the rest of the month - can look to week of March 6th, and no reason we can't do next week AND another.

Im official a Dallasonian? Wtf do we call ourselves here...

We still on for happy hour tomorrow at the Loon, 6-6:30?

BTW... Breadwinners indeed has an awesome brunch. Drinks from Quarter bar make the wait an easy one.

I guess I'm a Planite.

I like to say that I moved from Chicagoland - which has far fewer rides than you would imagine - to the Metroplex, which has far fewer screens.

;)

It's on.

See you there.  It's been a while.
I'm decidedly a TBD.  Kids activities slay us in the evening.  Having to be in town at 6:30 puts me out of play unless I re-shuffle some things.  I live north of the wall now.  Can't just walk down my alley to Stans anymore. :kicksrock:

No worries. If you can make it, great. If not, next time. No reason not to grab a drink every couple weeks or so. Not exactly gonna change my routine!

Confirmed. One of the cinnamon rolls will feed a Nigerian family of 8 for 6 weeks.

IFratelli's vegetarian pizza is an olive-gasm... and I usually hate veggie pizzas.

Obviously pizza is a sensitive issue with us NYers... but a new place opened on N. Hall called mimis, the owners is from brooklyn and the pies looked great, but have yet to try (stopped in and chatted while getting a menu on my way home last week)

Don't go into iFratelli with the typical douchey NYer mindset of "Anything that isn't exactly like the pizza I ate on the streets of brooklyn is hot garbage" and you'll be okay. There are folks who make red beans and rice differently than my mom... but that doesn't make it automatically bad. It's okay for folks to take a step out of their self-imposed bubble and judge variations on a familiar product on it's own merits.

Do that... and I think you'll find it's a pretty damn tasty pie. If you're a pizza bubble boy... stick to your boring one channel world :D

(FYI This is posted tongue in cheek as a playful jab an NYers, not at you. Hope ya take it as such, GB)

All good.  And I (for an elitist Jew from NY) try to set my expectations appropriately.  Just don't go saying you are a NY Slice or worse yet, NY "Style" (dead giveaway that it ain't) joint and serve some tex mex southern doughy crap.  ?

 I hear ya on that... If your "NY Style" slice still folds over and the toppings slide off in a typical arched one hand grip, GTFO of here with that ####.

Update:

We stayed at loon for 1 drink.  It was mostly dead and crowd was a bit older for my taste.  The loon is not what it used to be.

Moved to Blackfriar Pub (used to be something else when I lived down there, maybe LuLu's?) for a couple more drinks.  Scenery was a little better, but Uptown was mostly dead on a coldish Wednesday night.

Koya is a good dude.  Really funny.  He'd fit in anywhere.... even Dallas.  He's got a good spot in uptown.  I need to move back down there.

@Bogart We should hit up a ballgame when the O's are in town.... also when the Yanks are here so I can root for the Rangers that day.

YOLK - best breakfast and best biscuits and gravy I've had in Dallas.  I guess they have a few locations (including Ft Worth), but this was the one in the arts district.

Seemed to be a steady 45-60 min wait per never wait app, but by the time we got here at 2 was walk right in.

You certainly are getting right into the brunch scene full force.
