So is Chris Johnson this years Adrian Peterson? (1 Viewer)

So is the concensus on here that Chris Johnson is this years version of Adrian Peterson? I do see the similarities in situation/opportunity. Chris Johnson = ADP, and Lendale White = Chester Taylor. Both Min and Ten run ALOT.

The hype for Chris Johnson is unbelievable, but somewhat warranted, although its only been one game.

Are we all over-reacting? Its only been one game, and one posted suggested that Chris Johnson could be no more than a Jarius Norwood.

Is Chris Johnson going to be a first round pick next year in fantasy drafts?? If so, I love it considering I got Chris Johnson in round 14 of this years draft

I'm a Chris Johnson owner BTW...

When Chris Johnson heard that Kim Bauer lost her virginity, he found it and put it back, with a roundhouse kick to her nether region.
:excited: Chris Johnson does not dance. He roundhouse kicks to the beat.

Wow. Aren't you getting a little ahead of yourself? I mean it is a nice value and all that you got him in the 14th round but the guy has played one game in the NFL. Additionally, he plays on a team that has a very fluid philosophy on their running backs and one week's stud could be the next week's dud. For example, last year you had Chris Henry, Lendale White, and Chris Brown all getting mixed in. White emerged out of that group and despite the fact that many have a negative opinion about him as a player, he turned in a solid season (1,110 yards and 7 touchdowns). As Jeff Fisher indicated, Johnson will see at least half of the RB workload, but let's please hold off on calling him this year's Peterson or next year's first round pick. Instead, first let's see if he can take over the RB1 job full time (and play well enough to limit the time share with White) on his own team. You are hyping this guy up like ESPN hypes up Favre or Brady

Uhm...did you even read any of my post? Thats exactly what I'm saying - I think we're overhyping him.

I love LBJ as much as the next guy, but oughtn't there be as many Forte threads as LBJ threads?

As an LBJ owner, I regret not bidding Forte higher.

You can't beat Chris Johnson...you can only hope to contain him.

As much as I like CJ, I don't think his impact will be the same. Do I believe he will have a couple of games this season where he will post big numbers and single handed carry fantasy teams like AD did last year? Yes. do I believe his overall numbers will be comparable to AD's rookie season by the end of the season? No.

BTW, I own both AD and CJ on my keeper squad this year (in case there is any thought that I am biased).

CJ owner in every league...targeted him in the mid rounds.

THis is crazy talk. He will likely finish as RB 12-18 with an outside shot at top 10 in PPR leagues.... but he's not going to have near the impact of ADP this year.

Yeah, I read what you said, but now I am wondering if you read it. You asked the question if the hype is too much, but then you say
"The hype for Chris Johnson is unbelievable, but somewhat warranted, although its only been one game."So is the concensus on here that Chris Johnson is this years version of Adrian Peterson? I do see the similarities in situation/opportunity. Chris Johnson = ADP, and Lendale White = Chester Taylor. Both Min and Ten run ALOT. Even the topic of your post was "Is Chris Johnson this year's Adrian Peterson?" So, perhaps you need clarify if you believe that he is overhyped. By asking a question comparing him to Peterson, you are contributing/adding to the hype. It's not worth debating the intent of your post. My point was/is that people are absolutely getting carried one for a guy who is still in a RBBC. Let's give him more than one game before comparing him to Adrian Peterson.
