Just like how last year the common thinking was BAL SF. That was half right at least.
Baltimore and SF last year were both historically great teams DVOA-wise, like all time great teams and still only one of them made the Super Bowl and they lost.
In the last 10 SB's, the top seeds only faced off in 4 of them. Two other games had a 1 vs. 2 seed match-up. Two games did not have a top seed playing. In the past 4 SB's, we've seen a 3, two 4's, and a 5th seed make it. Who knows where KC and DET end up being seeded, but in recent seasons several lower seeds have advanced all the way to the SB.
