So who will Bengals get to back Palmer (1 Viewer)

Truth and rumors on SI's website says they are a front runner for Harrington because they may be willing to trade a a draft pick for him. However, it looks like interest in Harrington is on the rise from other teams.

The Bengals really need to find a solid solution considering Palmer (although speculated to be ready for opening day) may not be ready. So, they will need a decent number two man. With all the QB snatching going on recently, what are Cinci's decent options aside from Harrington if that does not go through?

Off the top of my head for QBs with starting experience:

FA:

Kerry Collins

Anthony Wright

Tommy Maddox

TRADE:

JP Losman

Joey Harrington

Billy Volek

Matt Schaub

I think Cincy would be a good fit for Joey College. Great OL to give him time. Good run game and Good RB to dump to in the flat.

So, what do you think is the most liekly scenario? I don't see Collins unles he drops his price. Maddox was a disaster in his most recent backup role, so I don't see that either.

In order:Harrington

Maddox

Wright

Maddox was a disaster this past year, but has performed well before, and hes the cheapest option with the most experience.

If Detroit can really get a first day pick for Joey, he won't be going to Cinci.

If they're smart they'll get Collins. Playoff teams with aspirations need reliable backup QBs at the 2nd-string position, not reclamation projects like Joey Harrington.

Of course, the QB market isn't done yet - some QB will still shake loose who we don't know about.
