So, Who's Gonna Have the Stones.... (1 Viewer)

We've all been inundated by now with the strategy to acquire LJ over the next few weeks and "ride him to the championship" :tinfoilhat: Assuming LJ continues his mediocrity vs. MIN, SD, and JAX over the bext 3 weeks, AND assuming his owner isn't a complete guppy, are you still interested? Are you going to be prepared to give up your late 1st round pick for him (ie: Henry, FWP, SA, Addai), cause you know that's what it's going to take. At least no one in my league is giving up an LJ for a 2nd tier RB or even a first tier WR with 2/3 of the season left. They're going to want a replacement for their RB#1.

Looking over LJ's schedule AFTER his bye week, it doesn't look as tasty as it did a couple of weeks ago when everyone started jabbering about the strategy (GB, DEN, IND, OAK, SD, DEN, TEN, DET, NYJ). GB, IND, and TEN defenses seem much improved and there's not a cakewalk in bunch until Championship week #16 when DET hits the schedule (assuming you make it that far).

I play in an auction league and spent a good portion of my cap on SJax and FWP (my one keeper). Before the season began, I was salivating at the thought of pairing SJax and LJ and thought I'd offer FWP to the LJ owner after the the KC/JAX game week 5. Now, at this juncture I'm not sure I'd do it, even though FWP would still have BAL twice, MIA, and JAX on his schedule (although I might be willing to consider SJax :lmao: ).

If you're considering acquiring LJ over the next coupla weeks, what are you going to be willing to give up to get him? And don't wussy out by saying "Edge" or "McGahee" cause it aint going to happen....

I recieved an offer this AM to trade TO/L.Jordan for LJ/L.Evans in my redraft league. Guy is not a guppie, but not a shark either and an avid Dallas fan.

I will counter with TO for LJ straight up (then try to deal for another WR), or TO/Cadillac for LJ/Evans, but if he wont budge I will probably pull the trigger anyway.

waiting for this week's 250 GF and LD Trade analysis updates, just to confirm.

WRs - S.Smith (CAR), TO, S.Moss (WAS) & J.Cotchery

Other- RB LT, Portis, L.Jordon, C.Williams

I offered TO straight up...and the guy wouldn't take it.

So, I just gave him this offer:

I give:

TO

Jones-Drew

Bulger

I get:

Brees

LJ

Houshmanzilly

we'll see what happens.

Depending on your other WR options, I may hesitate to do that deal. LJ will be fine in a few weeks, but likely will struggle for the near future.

I am in a start 2 wr league (+1 w/flex) and my WR's are S.Smith, Harrison, Housh and B.Edwards. RB's are A.Green, J.Lewis and I offered

J Lewis and Housh and was told Sweetin it up a little and he's yours..

Came back with Harrison and J Lewis.. He's thinking on it as he Loves Harrison...

Does it really require "stones" to make a fantasy football trade? It isn't war for God's sake.
I was simply trying to gauge if owners are really willing to implement a plan that has been discussed several times in this forum and on this site (there's an article, perhaps in the subscriber section, that discussed the strategy of trading either Henry or FWP for LJ just before his bye week). I'm not arguing that it's not a sound strategy, I'm just suggesting that it would take "stones" to so at this point. When the article was written, several of the defenses LJ is playing after his bye week looked vulnerable. I'm not sure about that now. I'm assuming most posters realize that the dilema of trading a stud for LJ isn't eqauted to "war". You see, this is fantasy football. It's a game we all play during the football season for fun and we tend to use euphemisms on message boards sometimes. :lmao:

Am going to offer Jamal for him after this week. The studs aren't producing right now. You have to accept a lot of change from year to year and it looks like no one really comes with guarantees these days.

was thinking of offering Portis for LJ in a PPR league. They've both scored about the same amount of points and LJ can only get better. Plus with Betts stealing carries...thoughts?

If the LJ owner isn't a guppy, you'll definately need to sweeten the pot in my opinion.

Just completed a trade for him in my redraft. I gave Benson and Jordon and got LJ and Foster. My other RB's are Henry, Bush, A.Green. We start 4wr's, so when everyone started going WR, I loaded up at RB and left most of the league with one starter and a split timer. The LJ owner was in last place and I am in 3rd. We shall see..

Would you guys think this would fly, Javon Walker & Caddy for LJ, the guy is need a a WR big time he has NOBODY plus he has Culter as his QB

Denver's rush defense is horrible, so DEN, TEN, and DET is a pretty sweet fantasy playoff schedule IMO. Depending on my situation after he finishes playing MIN, SD, and JAX I would probably pony up.

 LT didn't do so well early on last season, either, and he turned out just fine. In Herm, we trust, for the second half of the season at least..
