Is AJ Green, Calvin Johnson, and in his prime Barry Sanders playing for the US in this Euro League Final on American soil?

1. US playing in World Cup Final

2. Game 7 in Philly

3. That Euro thing you made up
:lmao: :lmao:
The funny part is that he did his best to fix the poll with the ludicrous choices and he still likely won't get close to his 98% mark.

As I said in the other thread, a fair poll, say US in World Cup vs your team in World Series would have made more sense but when your hand is caught so far down the cookie jar it is hard to extricate yourself.

This guy really is the second coming of LHucks.

Americans love soccer, you win! Can't help but notice every name along the bottom of the thread is a heavy poster in the soccer thread. Some defensive fans for such an exciting game.

Baseball is more popular than soccer in America, no one would dispute that.

I think many would dispute that baseball is favored by 98% of Americans over soccer, especially in the under 25 age bracket and in the enormous hispanic community.

this really is a laughably bad poll

"would you rather go see your team in the Super Bowl or some made up game that has nothing to do with you?"

Especially since the soccer fans are out in the masses... They migrated over from their soccer threads to drop a quick vote.

A simple soccer vs baseball vote without anyone trying to troll me would be 90-10, I don't think that is up for debate... In fact I won't debate it anymore, soccer fans are the sensitive bunch, not a surprise since it is a soft sport.

this is a pure troll poll. you can admit it.

they are a sensitive bunch, but they are good sports if you're at least willing to have an honest discussion.

I thought maybe he was just misguided or misinformed but yeah, it should have been clear from how he wrote the poll that no one can be that ignorant. Just a pure fishing trip.

I prefer soccer to baseball but the way this poll is worded I voted for the Mariners in game 7 of the WS. If it had been up against the USMNT in the WC Final, I would've voted for soccer.

That is why we considered this to be a troll. If you really want to answer the question in the spirit in which the situation was posed in the other thread, you should delete your vote and rethink it using the US Nats as your comparison.

IMO, a more interesting poll would have removed home bias. Some thing like WC Final vs World Series Game 7, neither your home baseball team or home country involved.

I'm sitting in a coffee shop and an older guy (about 60) walks in wearing a blue brazil jersey from WC2010 and he strikes up a convo with the barista (about 25) about the World Cup, Cristiano Ronaldo, etc. for 10+ minutes while he orders his coffee (it's not busy here).

Both appear to be native born Americans. Soccer really is growing here and people are getting excited about the Cup. That sort of thing didn't happen a decade ago IMO.

Might have something to do with your choice of thread title..
he changed the title after it became obvious his 98% expected out come was in jeopardy which is kind of sad considering how he worded the poll.

You soccer fans are a sensitive bunch
you're the one who seems sensitive.

Going out of your way to change the title, poorly word the poll...even starting the poll to prove your point, which isn't going the way you'd hoped.....and then excuse after excuse as to why soccer is getting votes.

whole lot of effort going into this by you

At the 9 year old level, its a landslide. I'd much rather stare at a blank wall for 2 hours than watch kids playing baseball.
You're doing it wrong. You watch your kid when he bats and the rest of the time you watch the crowd. 90% of the time I can tell whose son is up to bat because of the way his parents are acting.

Edited to add: voted baseball and it wasn't even close. And I haven't watched a MLB baseball game in decades.

Troll poll or not, I'd still watch the Indians play in Game 7 at the Jake. I can't imagine a scenario whereby I'd watch any soccer game; I'll even give you my ticket if I had one.

LHUCKS actually likes soccer.

I'd rather watch my team in the CL final than a WC final probably
I can see this. I think many people are like this across the world.

For me, when I grew up in the 80's there was no local club soccer to latch on to and obviously following Euro leagues was extremely hard so I latched on to the National Team. They kind of became my defacto "home club" and remained that way even after I have a local pro team 15 minutes away from my house and access to almost any game in Europe is easily available.

I've been to plenty of MLB games, including playoff and WS games.

I've never been to an elite level soccer game. I'd chose that.

Not a soccer fan, but then again, I don't really follow luge or curling beyond the Olympics. Same same for World Cup - it's pretty amazing, but I'm content with small doses.

Baseball coukd make changes to make the game more appealing to the casual fan.

-cut the number of games in half

-salary cap

-games not played from 9-5

-no extra innings

-get rid of umpires and use cameras

-must tackle base runner

-all fields same size

Where is the neither option? Both are as exciting as watching paint dry. Actually that is a little ugly to say about drying paint.

also, serve free beer.

Also, baseball should have allow unlimited subsitutions for pitchers, but they must come from the field players. Max 3 subs in 7 innings.
