"Some B-Lister like Tony Romo" (1 Viewer)

I couldn't help but chuckle when I saw this in the latest (prior to week 12) ESPN magazine.

No-Lose propositions, by Matthew Berry, TalentedMrRoto.comYou can taste the playoffs, can't you? Curiously, it's the one thing that doesn't taste like chicken. But you're so afraid of blowing it that you're frozen by indecision. Don't sweat it. Here's everything you need to do - and not do - to finish strong.I. Don't get cute. I sometimes get e-mails asking whether to start Tom Brady or some B-listed like Tony Romo with a great matchup. I don't care if Romo is playing your kid brother's Pee Wee team, or even the Cardinals. You don't bench Brady. Do not. Ever.
Not that I really care, but just wondering, how many people won because they started Romo last week? And how many would do the unspeakable act of benching Brady for him? :)And I'll point out that FBG had him at #5 last week. That's why we win championships :)

Brady is the 6th QB in both of my leagues. Romo's out-performed him over the last 6 weeks. Since when does that make him unbenchable?

Dude sounds kind of angry. I think somebody LOST because of Romo last week.
This was before his explosion.I guess he's trying the whole "don't bench your studs for matchups" - which I agree with generally. The problem, I think, is that he picked a bad example - one might definitely make the argument that Romo is (at least right now) in the stud category.

I mean, really - the "don't bench your studs" thing works when it's Peyton vs. Harrington, maybe. Harrington MAY outproduce Peyton this week, but the probability is lower. Three weeks ago, many people were benching CJ - but if anyone was capable of breaking out with 200+ and a few TDs, it was CJ. It's a game of percentages - how much risk, how much reward.

The biggest problem with fantasy football is weeding out the "finds" from the "flukes" - is Colston a one-hit wonder in week 1, or not? Berrian? Romo?

:)

Romo has a Blister??? Is it serious? is it on his hand? his foot? Has it gotten infected? Will it affect his availability for the game????

This dude's a stud. We need all the information we can get about him!

Berry has never been shy about putting his opinion out there on the line. Sometimes it works, sometimes it blows up in his face.

I give him credit though, its a lot easier to pick things apart than it is to stick your neck out there.
