Some Madden 2010 News (1 Viewer)

Have they figured out how to get back my dynasty saved game that gets stuck every time I try and load it?

NEVER buying that trash again.

Nothing groundbreaking but I am definitely loving them tweaking things for the hardcore fans in the Madden community. seeing that people can no longer exploit the FB Dive is AWESOME!
This is why Madden is terrible, you get excited that they fixed a glaring problem in the game. Like applauding a car manufacturer for fixing their cars so that the car doesnt break down when it hits 60mph.

If they make Madden even a little bit realistic there are millions of fan boys who will have 0 idea how to play a football game.

I refuse to play Madden again until they have a realistic salary cap that I can mismanage and send a team to salary cap hell for 2-3 years. And yes, I'm a sicko like that.

+1Dynasty mode is what I play the game for, and after 3 years my team is loaded with 98-99 talents, yet I'm still 20 mil under the salary cap. Kinda sucks by year 4 or 5 as the progression vs. salary cap vs. trade value leaves you a team that you're dissappointed with anything less than an undefeated season, even on All-Madden level.

:goodposting: :goodposting: I have the same problems. I am done with Madden and will generally avoid EA products.

I dont need new features, bells or whistles. I just want the damn thing to not freeze randomly in the middle of games. I preordered last year, got home from the store @ 12:10am. First freeze 12:13am. That would make two (or is it three?) straight years of buggy/freezing software for the "next gen" systems. Worse yet is they ignore the problem, and make no effort to make amends with the customer base.

It's just plain pathetic that 2k's offering from 5 years ago is a better product than new Madden releases. EA can DIAF. Monopoly FTL.

OK what? How?

If you actually read the EA blog linked from that article things seem to be looking up. Apparently they have a whole new dev-team and they're trying to make things right.

NFL2k5 is more fun than any Madden before or since.

^This. 1. Player movement was smoother

2. Running game is better by far

3. It never froze, ever. I know its silly, but this is a big one for me.

4. Even the bells and whistles (halftime show for example) kill EA.

And forgive me if I dont buy into the blog. They have been saying this type of stuff for years.

"There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again."

This was my thought too. It's been too long with too many disappointing versions for me to believe an EA blog saying they are finally going to get it right.

EA needs to realize that their base of hardcore gamers will stay the same (i.e. the idiots that never run the ball and run up the score to the mid 80's) and that there is an audience of football fans that enjoys real style game play (i.e. running a balanced offense and a high pressure defense). The dynasty mode has fallen off the horse, which was one of the last redeeming qualities and now the game is a big pile of poop. Problems from the '09 version are the worst ever for a game that has been around this long: players ratings never change, players never age, ridiculous ratings for mediocre players and so on and so forth. They need to scrap their engine and build a new one at this point.

EA can rot in hell. They had a good game in NFL head coach 09, they could have incorporated that into franchise mode in madden. Instead they stop support of the game 3 months after release and it is filled with bugs.

Then they stop making it for the PC after franchise was busted for 4 years.

Screw EA. Monoplies = quaninty over quality

Are there better football games out there, right now, than Madden? Not trying to make any points, I agree with everyone... just wondering if there's a good alternative out there.

I think what I hate more than anything is the fact that they get stuff fixed, and then in a year or two it's the same problem again. The LBs going sky high to knock down passes - that was a problem back in 2004 or 2005, and then it was gone for a while, and now it's the same crap again.

No, EA has exclusive rights with the NFL, so they have a monopoly on NFL video games. At least ones that feature actual NFL teams and players. And let's be honest, if it doesn't have that, many people won't bother looking at it.

I'd settle for a football game that plays decent and where my player's performance shows directly in their stat increases. Where I won't have a WR who doubles or triples the single season receiving and TD records and increases from an 80 to an 81.

Better yet, I'd settle for a football games that works like the greatest of sports video games, Baseball Stars, did for increasing player stats where I get to decide which players improve in which stats, without having to play some stupid mini-game to do it.

Except that 2003 and 2004 were two of the best Madden's ever. And '05 was only a minor step backwards. The franchise didn't really fall off until the current generation of consoles.

Can you still adjust the prices of tickets and concessions at your stadium? It's been years since I've even thought about playing Madden, but I really liked those ideas.
