The kicker last appeared in a regular-season game during the 2003 campaign, hitting 22 of his 33 field-goal attempts and converting all 30 point-after tries. 8/25/2005 Rich Coady, S (Atl) After being released by the Atlanta Falcons earlier this week, Coady has signed with the Dallas Cowboys, replacing Izell Reese on the roster. thanks simmon and Law, was hoping others would post some. Could be a good thread the next week or two.Missed the Jags/Boys trade, little things like that.

The Philadelphia Eagles today announced they have signed rookie free agent WR Michael Gasperson. The 6-4, 220-pound Gasperson played at the University of San Diego under head coach Jim Harbaugh, brother of Eagles special teams coordinator John Harbaugh. In three seasons with San Diego, Gasperson recorded 116 receptions for 1,894 yards and 17 touchdowns. In 2004, the Monterey, CA, native caught 54 passes for 894 yards and 7 scores. In a 2002 game vs. Valparaiso, he set a USD and Pioneer Football League record with 5 touchdown grabs. Signed 8/27, anyone know this guy? Kinda odd to sign an undrafted FA that wasn't cut from another team, at this point

Diggs has an MCL that's been holding him out, possibly starting the season opener.

Perhaps not a big surprise, but I would not say expected, particulary with Diggs out with a torn MCL. Navies has been the starter for two years, but was outplayed by Lennon and Manning so far this preseason. To me, its another sign that Ted Thompson is looking to the future.

this may shock youFOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots released quarterback Rohan Davey, running back Cedric Cobbs and safety Dexter Reid today. Davey, 27, was drafted by the Patriots in the fourth round (117th overall) of the 2002 NFL Draft. In three seasons in New England, the 6-foot-2-inch, 245-pound signal caller played in seven games and completed eight-of-19 passes for 88 yards. The Louisiana State product played in NFL Europe in the spring of 2004, where he was named the 2004 NFL Europe League Offensive Player of the Year and led the Berlin Thunder to the World Bowl XII championship. That season, he led the league with 19 touchdown passes and a 105.9 passer rating, while starting all 11 games and leading Berlin to a 10-1 record. Cobbs, 24, was drafted by the Patriots in the fourth round (128th overall) of the 2004 NFL Draft. Last year as a rookie, the 6-foot, 225-pound running back played in four games and rushed 22 times for 50 yards (2.3 avg). The Arkansas product began the 2004 season on the PUP list and was on the Patriots’ 53-man roster for the final 10 regular-season games and all three playoff contests. Reid, 24, was drafted by the Patriots in the fourth round (113th overall) of the 2004 NFL Draft. As a rookie in 2004, the 5-foot-11-inch, 203-pound safety played in 13 games with two starts and recorded nine tackles (4 solo), two passes defensed, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Additionally, his 16 special teams tackles ranked fourth on the team. In the 2004 playoffs, Reid played in all three of the Patriots’ games, recording four tackles (3 solo) and four special teams tackles.

PITTSBURGH — Two veterans and eight rookies or first-year players were among the 10 players released by the Steelers today. The team has trimmed its roster to 75 players and must release four more players by 4 p.m. on Tuesday. Seven-year veteran fullback/tight end Matt Cushing and eight-year veteran wide receiver Chris Doering were the two most experienced players to be released by the team. Cushing had spent the preseason trying to make the team exclusively at fullback after spending the past six seasons with the Steelers as a tight end and emergency fullback. Doering signed with the Steelers as a free agent on Aug. 11, after spending all or part of the past two seasons with the team. The first-year players that were waived included offensive tackle Josh Burr, wide receiver Zamir Cobb, defensive back Vontez Duff, center Joe Iorio and wide receiver Walter Young. The rookies who were released included offensive tackle Morgan Davis, kicker Shaun Suisham and offensive guard Jake Verstraete.

Packers Reduce RosterThe Green Bay Packers Sunday announced 11 transactions to reduce their roster in anticipation of the NFL's Tuesday deadline, said Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations. The team has released linebacker Hannibal Navies and guard Matt O'Dwyer, as well as wide receiver Vince Butler, cornerback Patrick Dendy, linebacker Jeremiah Garrison, guard/tackle Atlas Herrion, tight end Tory Humphrey, running back Derrick Johnese, defensive tackle A.J. Lindsay, wide receiver Chad Lucas and defensive tackle Quintene Newhouse.

here's the rest of the skins cutsThe complete list of roster cuts is as follows: Billy Baber, TE Charles Byrd, DB Jeff Chandler, K Jonathan Combs, RB Brock Forsey, RB Steven Harris, WR Charles Howard, DL Darnerien McCants, WR Jared Newberry, LB Jerome Nichols, DL Clifton Smith, LB Bryson Spinner, QB Josh Warner, OL

Picked up Derek Abney and JJ Moses(they think they can help WR corps?)
Derek Abney is a kick returning fool. He set all kinds of records at Kentucky, but he's too small to play receiver in the NFL.

bump, question thread(where can I find the cuts) on first page

Vermeil had something nice to say: You made cuts today.**** VERMEIL: “The first player I want to talk about is veteran Quinton Caver, who’s been with us for three and a half years. Done a really great job on special teams, made over 40 special teams tackles and started four games for us. Just a super guy but with our draft choices and the acquisition of Kendrell Bell it makes it really tough for that kind of guy (to make it). By letting him go a week earlier than we have to, we give him an opportunity to be evaluated by the rest of league and we may be able to help him get a job.“But he’s a great kid and he’s helped my wife on the Operation Breakthrough program and been good in the community. We’ll miss him; you always miss those kinds of guys who help you build a football team. But that’s part of it.“The young players that have been released are Sam Gado, Mike Johnson from Kansas State, Darius Jones from Wisconsin, Mike Kallfelz and Justin Perkins from Connecticut, a good young corner prospect, but right now there’s just not enough room on the roster for him, especially with the two seasoned veterans we added. That’s what we’ve done right now. We have a few more decisions to make."

Brightful surprises me. He looked decent as a CB in NFLE and dramatically improved. He returned INTs for TDs with his PR/KR ability you know of. I thought he was the perfect type of "fill two roles" guy to keep.Miller? Leonard Henry, whom do the Raiders have left to play RB behind Jordan?

according to other threads, Warrick and Peerless Price were cut.I'll try and get all the cuts for those teams unless someone else has got em'.

The Bengals officially terminated wide receiver Peter Warrick’s contract Tuesday, ending the Bengals career of their first-round draft pick from 2000.

Also Tuesday the Bengals waived two players, third-year cornerback Terrell Roberts and rookie guard Kyle Takavitz

here's price(from gambino other thread)

Flowery Branch -- For the Falcons, the Price was wrong.

After months of speculation, the team released wide receiver Peerless Price Tuesday morning, parting with a once highly productive player who failed to live up to lofty expectations and a $37 million contract ($10 million signing bonus) after being acquired from the Buffalo Bills for a first-round draft pick in 2003.

Price was told before practice and sped out of the parking lot at team headquarters in his BMW just as the team was beginning to stretch for the day's drills.

"I hate y'all," Price said to an AJC photographer, before hustling into his car without further comment.

The waiving of Price enables him to catch on with another team before the start of the season. The Tennessee Titans and the Philadelphia Eagles, the Falcons' season-opening opponent, are thin at wide receiver and could be first in line to give Price a chance.

As for the Falcons, the biggest question looming has been answered. Now, the team has to find a fifth receiver, which could come either through picking up a veteran who has been released by another team - the Cincinnati Bengals waived former first-round pick Peter Warrick Tuesday - or by signing a player already in camp.

Rookie free agents Cole Magner, Romby Bryant and arena leaguer Will Pettis have impressed the coaching staff. The Falcons will save $2 million in salary this season by cutting Price but they will take a $5.7 million hit against the cap next year because his salary-cap figure accelerates. The financial stake with such a move was a key reason the team did not release him earlier this year.

However, the signs of his possible departure have been in the works for months. Following 64 and 45 catch seasons and with the coaching staff expressing concerns with his blocking in the run game, the Falcons selected wide receivers Michael Jenkins and Roddy White in the first round of the past two drafts.

This summer, they publicly declared Price's starting job open for competition then challenged him over offseason drills. They also kept an eye on his behavior, from how he addressed teammates and coaches to how he handled the often-critical media.

Price passed on all counts but was still demoted behind Jenkins when training camp opened. Price never openly complained and was praised for his hard work in practice. In the end, though, he was not deemed a right fit.

PUP not a waiver8/30/2005 Thomas Tapeh, RB (Phi) Tapeh will miss at least the first six weeks of the 2005 regular season after being placed on the physically unable to perform list by the Philadelphia Eagles on Tuesday. The second-year running back continues to recover from the dislocated hip that forced him to finish the 2004 campaign on injured reserve. Prior to the injury, he had 42 yards on 12 carries in seven games.

8/30/2005 Dan Cody, DE (Bal) After suffering damage to the anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligament in his right knee during a practice session earlier this month, Cody has been placed on injured reserve by the Baltimore Ravens. The rookie linebacker, who was a second-round pick out of Oklahoma in this year's draft, will miss the entire 2005 campaign. 8/30/2005 Musa Smith, RB (Bal) Continuing to recover from the broken leg he suffered in a game against the Dallas Cowboys last season, Smith has been placed on the physically unable to perform list by the Baltimore Ravens. The running back will miss at least the first six weeks of the 2005 campaign. 8/30/2005 Kim Herring, S (Cin) Herring has been placed on injured reserve by the Cincinnati Bengals after suffering a shoulder injury in last Friday's preseason meeting with the Philadelphia Eagles. The safety, who was slated to start for the Bengals this season, will miss the entire 2005 campaign. 8/30/2005 Hannibal Navies, LB (GB) Navies, who was released by the Green Bay Packers earlier this week, has signed with the Cincinnati Bengals. The veteran linebacker finished the 2004 campaign with 47 tackles and half a sack in 15 games. He started all but one of the 31 regular-season contests in which he appeared with the Pack. 8/30/2005 Ifeanyi Ohalete, S (Ari) Ohalete has signed with the Cincinnati Bengals after being released by the Arizona Cardinals. Following three years in Washington, the safety spent just one season with the Cardinals, notching 71 tackles and one forced fumble in 16 games in 2004. He has missed just one game in his four-year NFL career. 8/30/2005 Chad Hutchinson, QB (Chi) Shortly after being demoted from starter to fourth on the depth chart, Hutchinson has been released by the Chicago Bears. In two exhibition game starts after Rex Grossman went down with a season-ending ankle injury, Hutchinson completed just eight of his 22 pass attempts, tossed four interceptions and was sacked six times. 8/30/2005 Will Poole, CB (Mia) Not expected to return until at least mid-season, Poole has been placed on the physically unable to perform list by the Miami Dolphins, officially ruling him out of the first six weeks of the regular season. The cornerback continues to recover after undergoing surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, an injury suffered during the Miami Dolphins' mini-camp in May. 8/30/2005 Larry Chester, DT (Mia) Chester had been optimistic that he would be ready for the start of the regular season, but he'll miss at least the first six weeks after being placed on the physically unable to perform list by the Miami Dolphins. The defensive tackle played in just two games last season before missing the rest of the campaign with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee. He continues to recover from that injury. 8/30/2005 Chad Morton, RB (NE) Unable to get back to full strength after undergoing surgery to repair ligament damage in his right knee, Morton has been released by the New England Patriots. The running back/kick returner spent the majority of training camp on the physically unable to perform list. 8/30/2005 Tom Tupa, P (Was) Tupa hasn't been able to kick since straining his back two weeks ago while warming up for an exhibition game. The Redskins did not have an exact timetable for the 39-year-old punter's return, so the team has placed him on injured reserve, officially ending his 2005 season. Tupa averaged 44.1 yards on 103 punts last season.

Jordan Beck, LB (Atl) Beck suffered a torn ligament in his left foot during Thursday's preseason game against Jacksonville and is likely out for the season. The Falcons are expected to put the rookie linebacker on the injured reserve list sometime before Tuesday's roster deadline. Beck was slotted as the backup to Ed Hartwell at middle linebacker this season. Undrafted rookie Antoine Cash will now fill that position.

8/30/2005 Corey Sears, DE (Hou) Sears has been released by the Houston Texans. The veteran defensive end appeared in all but one of the Texans' 48 games over the past three seasons, notching 69 tackles and two sacks over that span.

8/31/2005 J.J. Moses, WR (Ari) The Cardinals claimed Moses off of waivers Tuesday after he was released by the Chicago Bears. The return specialist will be expected to replace J.R. Redmond, who was placed on injured reserve on Monday. Last year, he averaged 22.1 yards on 59 kickoff returns and 8.6 yards on 36 punt returns. 8/31/2005 Dustin Lyman, TE (Chi) Limited by injuries for much of training camp, Lyman has been released by the Chicago Bears. The tight end appeared in all 16 of the team's games last season, hauling in 11 passes for 73 yards and a touchdown. /31/2005 Jerametrius Butler, CB (StL) The St. Louis Rams have placed Butler on injured reserve. The cornerback suffered a torn posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee on the first day of training camp and decided to undergo surgery. He will miss the entire 2005 season. 8/31/2005 Robert Holcombe, RB (KC) The sprained knee Holcombe suffered in an exhibition game against the Minnesota Vikings earlier this month has landed the running back on injured reserve for Kansas City. Holcombe, who signed a one-year contract with the Chiefs in April after being released by the Tennessee Titans in a salary cap move, will miss the entire 2005 season.
