Sophomore Breakouts (WR) (1 Viewer)

Its fairly typical for Wide Receivers to struggle to produce as Rookies. Even eventual studs like Larry Fitzgerald and Calvin Johnson put up mediocre Rookie Seasons. This leaves opportunity for smarter players to scoop up Sophomore players while others are still sour about their Rookie seasons.

Below is a list of 2nd Year receivers that are poised to breakout:

I like Hopkins the most out of that group.

I think its funny that people are talking like the Texans passing game is going to be awful. Say what you want about Fitzpatrick, but he is an upgrade on what they had.

Austin and Stills do nothing for me. Maybe as WR5 guys, but I don't see a ton of upside with either.

I would have mentioned Aaron Dobson in that article. I think he's better than Austin or Stills,

Among 2nd year guys, I'd rank them as follows:

1. Allen(obviously already broke out)

2. Hopkins

3. Williams

4. Patterson

5. Dobson

Absolutely right about the 2nd year receiver opportunity. Avoiding the rookie hype is the shark move.

A lot from which to choose this season. I'd rank them:

1 Patterson

2 Austin

3 Williams

4 Hopkins

5 Hunter

6 Bailey

7 Woods

8 Dobson

9 Boyce

10 Stills

I like Dobson and Hopkins probably the most out of this group this year

but I also like Hunter, Wheaton and Tavon right behind them

You really need to learn which words to capitalize, it's incredibly distracting even outside of the grammar errors. Distracts from the work you're putting in.

I'm on the Justin Hunter train. The offseason reports have been really positive, he put on the extra weight, and is slated to play the X in that offense, which can be a very productive spot. I don't expect a PPR dynamo type year, but 70rec for 1000yds could be within reach.

Not so much a massive breakout candidate, but I really like Robert Woods' value this year. He currently has a 13th round ADP.

Put up a respectable stat line last year and is now the only WR with previous rapport with Manuel. He'll also be playing the slot role vacated by Johnson so will see alot of the ball.

I'm not predicting huge numbers, but for the price you can get him for (I traded the 2.07 for him recently) I think he is a solid WR3 floor in PPR.
