HIGH'JINX' HITS YANKEESCREW SABOTEUR BURIED RED SOX GEAR UNDER NEW STADIUMBy JOHN DOYLE and CHUCK BENNETTApril 11, 2008 --The new Yankee Stadium may be cursed!A devilish Boston fan working on a concrete crew at the $1.3 billion stadium covertly buried a Red Sox T-shirt under what will become the visiting team's locker room to jinx the Yanks, two construction workers told The Post yesterday."In August, a Red Sox T-shirt was poured in a slab in the visitor's clubhouse. It's the curse of the Yankees," one worker said. "Nobody knows about it. It's in the floors, it's buried."The workers say they now fear that they unwittingly helped hex their beloved Bronx Bombers."I don't want to be responsible for sinking the franchise," said a second worker, who witnessed the sabotage. "I respect the stadium."The Post has withheld their identities because they are not authorized to speak to media. This latest hex is above and beyond any typical ritual - like wearing a lucky shirt or hat - that fans typically do to boost their luck."It sounds a little unprecedented to me," said Tim Wiles, director of research at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown.

Shouldn't he have put it under the home team clubhouse?
He's a Red Sucks fan...probably too drunk to know which locker room was which. :goodposting:
As Jay Mohr said today while filling in for Rome. "T-shirts aren't going to curse the Yankees, but Kevin Brown, Carl Pavano and Randy Johnson sure will"
:goodposting: Leave to Jay to hit the nail on the head...

There is just something about this story I really like and makes me think of the history of baseball. Maybe I will change my mind after being reminded of this for then next 50 years the Yankees are in this stadiaum. I gotta believe all the pub was well worth the cost.

This guy should have kept his mouth shut and forced the Yanks to either suck it up after the stadium was built and hope that there is no Jinx or force them to tear a huge hole in the newly built stadium

But I think other workers saw this happen. Thats how they knew where to dig. I heard the cost to dig it up was $50k. :X

Now that I see it was an Ortiz jersey.

I'm pretty sure the curse backfired.......I think they cursed Ortiz by mistake

(have you seen him hit this year? No me either)

Ortiz is opposite Arod. Ortiz hits when it counts. Or do Yank fans forget about that?

I think a guy named Wrigley with a Harry Caray avatar might not be a Yankees fan.
Right onNo agenda here. These games must not count for much.....Ortiz is batting a league worst .070Just sayin

But just in case the buried jersey does indeed bring a curse, Bonnie Thompson, a 37-year-old witch from Hicksville, LI, cast a spell to sweep away the jinx.

"I cast out all negative energies from the Red Sox jinx. Their buried T-shirt has no effect here," the Wiccan priestess said while wearing an all-black dress and Yankees cap. "All negative thought-form be gone."

She then lay a Red Sox jersey on the ground and beat it with a broom.
