Spencer Ware 2018 Fantasy Playoffs (1 Viewer)

Damien Williams will now win championships in week 16 when they sit Ware but Ware gets you into the championship game.

He may not win championships, but he'll get you more points than Hunt if he is suspended....and probably more points than most rbs still sitting in the free agent pool.

Dodds has already adjusted his rankings.

Ware ranked #9 in PPR scoring.

Directly behind James Conner and David Johnson and ahead of Mixon and Chubb.

So what are the odds the NFL does anything for this season? Not real familiar with all the details in the Ezekial Elliott case but didn't it take the NFL a year to investigate?

AP is reporting Hunt is landing on the Exempt List, so he's most likely done for the season while the NFL investigates.

Hunt needs to avoid the dreaded commish exempt list...domestc violence is 6 games....weird that the league did nothing when they knew....if course maybe they didnt see the tape

That is my understanding from what I read. The NFL and the Chiefs knew of the incident but did not know of any video. Maybe they only got one-side of the story from Hunt and his buddies. I gotta believe that NFL security investigated further though when it first happened.

So can someone explain the commish exempt list? I know he gets paid but cannot attend practice or games. Is this at the request of the Chiefs or an NFL action?

I thought Ware was a good receiver several years ago, but was under utilized. Ware just looked to wear down late in 2016 and also didn't look the same after the concussion. Otherwise, I think his value is higher than this thread is projecting. As someone already stated, in 2016, Ware had Alex Smith, Maclin as the WR1 and Hill as a rookie.

Doubt Ware sees many stacked boxes like he did in 2016.

I just picked up Damien too. Lock up kc backfield roy. Not playing Blount now anyway after this development

Ekeler is my 4th RB with a max of 4 spots.  I think Ware has more upside and more of a chance to make my starting line.
I guess it makes more sense then, but I hate leagues with these kinds of limitations.  My main league has a deep bench with 9 bench slots and I have a total of 9 RBs on my team     Zeke and 8 other RB3 or lower guys - fortunately one of them is S. Ware.

Ware vs Ekeler is likely a weekly decision here.

Mostly joking about the anonymous part, mostly serious about getting someone else to use his roster space :)
Well, it worked.  I sent an email to the 4 teams that are out of the playoffs and one of them picked up Ware, and another one tried but he was already gone.  We do have a $10 weekly prize for high score and everybody is eligible throughout the entire season, so it's possible he gets a high score out of it one week.  And in any event this keeps Ware away from any potential playoff opponent.

Although part of my reticence in picking him up was I figured it would drag out, get appeals, etc and Hunt would finish the season.  I never expected the Chiefs to cut him.  It sill would have been tough to part with anybody on my roster, so might not have done it any way.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Of the 2 guys behind Ware is it likely they see any action or are we pretty sure Ware carries the load?

That seems way too high to me. Ware isn't anywhere near the talent Hunt is. Hunt was the best RB in the NFL after contact since he was drafted.

I'd have Ware around RB15 or so, in line with Sony Michel or Marlon Mack. I'd be insulted if somebody offered me Ware for Chubb.

Ware's career efficiency #s are basically identical to Hunt's.  In the same role (mostly), in lesser version of the same offense.

And Ware put up 14.3ppg for the 14 games he played in 2016 (good for #12/#13 so far this year).  I don't think he or the Chiefs will miss a beat.

You do know KC plays OAK this weekend, correct?  Great matchup.  RB9 seems reasonable.

The matchup is nice, I'm not sure the player is, or that he is going to get Hunt's usage. RBBC seems very possible to me, and Ware hasn't played meaningful snaps in 2 years, and had a major leg injury since then. He's well worth a waiver add, no question, but I think its wishful thinking that he's going to be an RB1, or have even 75% of Hunt's production.

I have more confidence in Ekeler than Ware, we've at least seen him make plays this year.

That is a risky move.  Gordon is week-to-week, and Ekeler could put up RB1 numbers, especially in PPR.  No doubt Ware would be considered a RB1 himself if Hunt is suspended/put on Commissioner's exempt list, but that is not a certainty.  I think I would drop my kicker for Ware and let this play out until Sunday.
Funny you said drop your kicker. I thought about doing that earlier, but my kicker is Butker, and my other RBs are Gordon, David Johnson, McCaffery, Breida and Ekeler. Kinda regretting it but kinda not.

At least a non playoff team picked him up.

this is interesting. I currently have him benched behind Barkley, chubb, and mixon

I am contemplating benching Chubb for Ware this week.  Chubb @ Houston v. Ware @ Oak.  Houston has given only three 100 yd rushing games.  Oak has given up over 100yds rushing in ALL but 2 games.

I think there is a very good chance they see action in weeks 16 and 17 assuming the chiefs win out. Just as if Ware would have seen action in those weeks if Hunt had remained the starter. Other than spot duty I don't think you will see much of the backups until the last two regular season games unless they have a blow out going on, it is Ware's ball for now.

I picked up Damien Williams to handcuff Ware. I already had Ware rostered (totally pissed off the Hunt owner) in my main league.

I thought about that too but benched Mixon. I'm not sure he has room to run with the defense not worried about the pass

I'm looking at Chubb as a guy who probably has a come back to earth game but is saved by receptions

Deciding weekly between: until Melvin comes back

Ware @ Oakland

Chubb @ Houston

Ekeler @ Pittsburgh

K Allen @ Pittsburgh

get to pick two in PPR.

Playing Houston at DST so not sure I want Chubb.

I carried Ware on all 5 of my redraft teams and two dynasties rosters. I felt if something happened to Hunt, he could be a league winner. I don’t expect there would be much drop off and expect similar usage as he is capable as a runner and a receiver.

He is a perfectly timed blessing in a league where I’m positioned as the three seed and lost Gordon.

In one league I squeaked into the playoffs last week with a win despite a losing record(5 teams at 5-7, I lead in points) as I fully expect to beat the last place team this week. I thought Chubb’s emergence gave me a legit shot at the championship, now I get to add Ware. League Winner!

Ware and Ekeler imo. I think Ware is going to end up being a must start.

How does Ware compare to Hunt in relation to PPG? Hunt was the no. 8 RB in our PPR league averaging 21 PPG. What can we expect from Ware? Roughly 80% of that? More? Less?

You think the Chiefs build a three game lead over the Pats, Texans, AND Chargers within the next 3 weeks???

Anyone think the Chiefs will just sling to to shift Hunt attention to Mahomes MVP race to show he can have success without Hunt helping in the run game?

I mean, it wouldn't be for that reason, but I think it likely the Chiefs get more pass heavy, simply because they just suffered a pretty big downgrade at RB, much like I expect the Chargers to do as well.
