Usually I'll knock a remake for straying too far from the original but this pisses me off that it looks like a direct remake. If Brolin eats a live octopus I'll never watch Do The Right Thing again

I actually have a question maybe someone can help me with. It might be cultural which is leading to my confusion
I don't really get what old daisu did wrong. He was telling his friend what he saw. That doesn't really constitute starting a rumor.
Also, if she wasn't really pregnant, what the hell was her brother talking about with words getting her pregnant.

Really? The original is subtitled, and only geeks and film snobs have actually seen it. I don't think this falls into the "didn't need to be remade by Hollywood" category at all. Heck, Hollywood didn't even make the first one.

The fact that he has a live tv feed in his cell looks like a potential indication of some sort of change to the story.

I liked it. A little far fetched, but a great ending. Brolin kicks major ###. Could've done without Sam Jackson's over the top character.

Is this really the ending of the new one? If so no wonder it's getting such bad reviews.
In this one, we find out that the villain's entire family was one big incestuous clan. Brolin's character does in fact report them, leading to the villain's family being deported and the dad going crazy and shooting everybody before turning the gun on himself (the villain survives the encounter, of course).

Yeah it was predictable and bad. Elizabeth is much better looking and a far better actress than her sisters though.
