His grandfather committed a murder-suicide in Florida over the weekend.

Have to imagine he'll be back for the regular season, but football is clearly secondary when it comes to real life events like this.

He will be back for the opener. These athletes don't operate you or I would. We will hear all the stuff about "his place is with his team", "they are his family", "his family would have wanted him to play", etc.

Its an unfornuate story but it really has no impact on the Bills or ff.

ETA: Actually, there MAY be a ff impact. I can definitely see an inspired performance in that first game and a conscientious effort to feature Spiller. Team do have a way of rallying like that and playing a bit above their own expectations when things like this happen.

As far as I understand it was his step grandfather, so not blood related, but that doesn't necessarily matter. It may be that this is more about support for his grandmother than personal loss, but we do not know and are unlikely to find out.

His grandmother passed away when Spiller was a child.
