Horrible ?? I don't think so. Fitzs is good but Ward is solid. If L.T. does miss alot of time he will pay more for him i will make sure of it or he will go with out.. im also giving up a shot at having a great back with S.D. if L.T. misses alot of time that's valuable.

I still maintain that it's possible that Sproles value is highest right now.

Anything short of 120 yards from scrimage and a TD on MNF would be a letdown from what folks are expecting already from him, whether or not LT plays.

In my redraft, I have LT and a good RB bench (no LT backups).

In my dynasty league, I don't have LT, but did pick up Mike Tolbert after doing some research.

Despite his fullback status (and that he was a UDFA out of Coastal Carolina who went unrated by most before the 2008 draft), I still see Mike Tolbert getting a handful of touches in a Tomlinson absence.

WEEK ONE

1-10-SD 1 (5:21) 17-P.Rivers pass short right to 35-M.Tolbert ran ob at SD 17 for 16 yards (53-N.Diggs).

2-8-SD 22 (12:06) 17-P.Rivers pass short right to 35-M.Tolbert to SD 38 for 16 yards (99-M.Kemoeatu).

2-1-SD 49 (11:20) 35-M.Tolbert up the middle to CAR 45 for 6 yards (53-N.Diggs, 99-M.Kemoeatu).

3-1-CAR 36 (9:39) 35-M.Tolbert up the middle to CAR 36 for no gain (99-M.Kemoeatu, 91-G.Gibson).

2-8-CAR 15 (6:36) 35-M.Tolbert up the middle to CAR 15 for no gain (52-J.Beason, 53-N.Diggs).

1-10-SD 45 (9:30) 17-P.Rivers pass short left to 35-M.Tolbert to SD 48 for 3 yards (52-J.Beason, 92-D.Lewis).

WEEK TWO

2-9-DEN 16 (4:01) 17-P.Rivers pass incomplete short middle to 35-M.Tolbert.

1-10-SD 20 (5:53) 17-P.Rivers pass short right to 35-M.Tolbert to SD 21 for 1 yard (55-D.Williams).

2-4-SD 28 (8:58) 17-P.Rivers pass short middle to 35-M.Tolbert pushed ob at DEN 5 for 67 yards (58-N.Webster).

1-10-DEN 11 (15:00) 35-M.Tolbert up the middle to DEN 10 for 1 yard (32-D.Bly; 33-M.Manuel).

2-6- (11:31) (Shotgun) 6-J.Cutler pass short middle to 15-B.Marshall to SD 42 for 8 yards (23-Q.Jammer). FUMBLES (23-Q.Jammer), recovered by DEN-73-C.Kuper at SD 42. 73-C.Kuper to SD 42 for no gain (35-M.Tolbert).

Pretty unimpressive, outside of the 66-yard catch. But they did hand it to him (for but a 1-yard gain) with first an ten at the Denver 11. What I don't understand is how he made that tackle on the play where Brandon Marshall fumbled. Does Turner have him spot-filling at linebacker?

So, he's not been impressive so far, and the drafted Jacob Hester is ahead of him.

But I still see them using him some more if LT is out.

Hopefully, LT is benched this week. Either way, I think they're going to spread the ball around quite a bit. LT's backup is likely a committee.

Just curious if any trades have gone through. Or what are you asking for / what are they asking you for?
Sproles was an un-drafted free agent in my league. I picked him up in the preseason after I saw him looking crisp. Hester had been taken as the handcuff to LT, so I swooped in and added Sproles before the season started. I traded Sproles yesterday for a 2nd round pick in 2009. I am in a keeper league, so there's not likely to be a stud available in the early portion of the 2nd round, but I should be able to add some IDP depth, draft a young receiver, or get a top backup QB at that spot. Considering I got Sproels so cheaply, I figured I would trade up and look for depth in 2009. Sproles doesn't look like a keeper for my team, as I already have Barber, SJax, Turner & Ronnie Brown at RB. For the record, I really like Sproles' upside and explosiveness, as I posted in other threads. Jesus there are a lot of Sproles threads sprouting up!

I nabbed Sproles and offered him to the LT owner, who also has McGahee, Fargas, and Ahman Green. I asked for Santana Moss or Mason, he didn't respond. He's my RB5, so I am not worried, jsut thought he would bit with basically zero starting RBs.

I have LT2 in a non PPR dynasty.

The guy with Sproles wants a WR.

I offered either I.Bruce or Reggie Brown straight up for Sproles. He rejected.

He offered Sproles/Cotchery for Burress. I rejected.

I offered Chambers/Duckett for Sproles/Cotchery. He rejected.

I give up.

If he can get a non-LT2 owner to pay more than that, he can go for it.

I'd be surprised though.

FWIW, I think his offer is the most reasonable of the three listed. I still like Cotchery a lot though. :)

Is the shark move to hold Sproles at least through this weekend?
Like my other posts state, holding him until Tuesday could pay off.BUT, his value could be at it's highest right now. For starters, a lot of folks are currently valuing Sproles as though he is both going to start on Monday and going to succeed on Monday. Neither of those is guaranteed. LT could come in and look good for a spell (or longer). (I'd rather LT be benched, personally.) Likewise, Tolbert isn't a bad runner himself. Hester is also there. Just because they're big fullbacks doesn't eman they can't shoulder the load for a game or two. Look at McLain (Baltimore) in week one.All that said, I think there are going to be a lot of Sproles owners who are unhappy with current trade offers, holding onto him through this weekend's game. We'll know on Tuesday whether those owners get lucky.
I'm guessing it wasn't the shark thingest to do, holding onto Sproles. But I can see why one would, what with all the listening to what LT is not saying and all...

Don't think Sproles value took a hit at all last night. He once again looked very good carrying and catching the ball and eventhough LT got most of the carries he looked lumbering and a shell of his former self.

so after tonight, what is sproles' value now?
It's quite limited to anyone being objective. He's a handcuff and an excellent change-of-pace back. LT had 26 carries last night and all goal-line touches.Certain Sproles owners can't seem to accept this.

Redraft = limited valueDynasty = very intriguing prospect for the future

I think someone stated it earlier, but I would have to say that Sproles' value was probably at its highest this past week (prior to the game). He does look to be a great COP back and a good runner when he gets the chance. However, LT is getting the majority of the carries and all of the goalline work.

I wish I could have moved him this past week, but I was actually thinking he would have a larger role last night. I do believe he is more valuable to the LT owner than anyone else - therefore you should be able to get slightly more than what would seem to be an "objective" value. Value wise (according to FBG Top 250 forward) he is worth right about Kevin Walter (131 vs 122 value pts) - but I just do not see that happening.

I will say that I think LT will probably only get better each week, so I will probably be a little less firm on my trade negotiations.

Objectively, LT had 26 carries and not a single one went for more than 5 yards. The last guy to get 26+ carries with a long run of no more than 5 yards was Jerome Bettis in 2002.Objectively, Sproles had 7 touches that went for 2, 2, 6, 7, 14, 21, and 25 yards. Is it really that unreasonable to think that the Chargers may want to give Sproles some more opportunities with the ball in his hands?

the LT owner in my league (AFC only) is 1-2 and he really doesn't have much on his team that i'd want. he has Favre, Chris Perry, Welker, Stuckey, Santonio Holmes, Chargers Defense. he's a big Steelers fan though. so Holmes is probably overvalued.

he does have ricky williams though - williams had a nice day vs. NE - is williams worth rostering at this point though after brown's 5 TD day?

i'm also thinking chris perry might be intriguing, but i'm scared of the injury quotient with him.
