Sproles value moving forward (1 Viewer)

he has been a great PPR value the last 2 weeks despite on getting maybe 10 carries. When LT comes back will Sproles remain as a 8-10 carry back with all passing downs as well? Trying to gauge whether Sproles really is a legit #3 RB or just fools gold.

I think he's going to end up as a legit #1-maybe not in workload but in production. He is a real threat to score on returns, passing, and/or rushing-every week. :hifive:

I'm in a 1pt per 30 return yds league and Sproles has been huge.

I've been getting unbelievable offers and I just can't pull the trigger.

Moss for Sproles

DWill plus for Sproles package

He is worth a ton right now. I don't know what to do ... I'd almost rather not get the offers.

Was offered Roddy White for him..after ADP though my RB depth is very weak. Don't want to give him up to be honest.

Bought him relatively cheap for the next 4 seasons in a salary cap auction dyno in June, I expect more of what you've seen so far going forward.

Randy Moss for Sproles is just stupid value. Take it and run.

Two scenarios:

1. LT comes back (likely) and Sproles reverts back to passing down status - valuable but not worth Moss!

2. LT out for the year (not likely) and Sproles becomes an uber-stud RB1 for about 3-6 weeks before getting hurt with that tiny frame. Still not worth Moss!

I think it is highly unlikely that Sproles becomes a top 5 RB this year no matter how you slice it and there fore if you can get that caliber player for him, do it.

Or1. Owner owns Sproles that counts return yardage in adddition to the receptions hog he already is - Moss not worth it.2. Lt out for the year becomes an uber-stud RB1 and no one can predict an injury. He could continue to tear it up - Moss not worth it.I think Sproles does become a top 5 RB especially if your league counts return yards.

WOW -- I thought a decent #3 RB in PPR maybe -- folks here seem to think he is a stud in waiting?

Right now with LT I see maybe 8-10 carries and 5-7 receptions to me thats a hit or miss but a solid option as a #3RB.

Guys...LT is done. Why can't people get that through their thick heads? Even when "healthy", LT has no more burst, can't cut and can't get to the corners without being walked down by a linebacker. Sproles is the man moving forward in SD. It's obvious, but, people just can't accept that.

the thing that makes Sproles valuable is that he scores even when LT is around....he still put up points when we knew what he roll was with LT ....he was borderline startable as is....anything sans LT is usually gravy.....

Thanks for getting this thread off the ground. I was wondering his value as well and couldn't find anything in any of the other threads.

based on one game against a decent Oak defense?

Sproles value depends on PPR or nonPPR. PPR he's definitely a RB2. He will never get enough carries to be a RB1. Also, his value will depend on how good SD defense is. If they play like they did against BAL, SD might be behind in a lot of games, forcing Rivers to pass more.....therefore increasing Sproles' value.

IMO, he's only a RB3 in a nonPPR league.

I am high on Sproles, have him in 1 league and trying to acquire him in another. IMO, he is an rb1 in the second tier range ( Forte, DeAngelo ) without LT and an RB2 with LT in the Ray Rice, Joseph Addai range

With LT out, there are only a few rb's I would rather have, namely, AP,Chris Johnson, Gore, MJD. This guy can score at any moment, imo he will have multiple 25+ point games this year.

 Yeah, the same defense everyone thought he was going 150 and 2 against before the game.

Sproles is not the answer in San Diego. At least not yet.

he can catch passes out of the backfield, and he has huge speed if he makes it through the first level, but he is lacking in a lot of ways.

1) He cant block worth a lick. I saw him try to pick up the blitz and he got swatted aside like a pesky fly.

2) he doesnt run inside all that well.

3) he doesnt have the vision. He has shown flashes at times, but I really dont think he's ever going to be anything more than a situational back.

He is an adequate start in leagues where you get kick return yardage.... but in a standard league he is a backup. and if/when LT gets back on the field he wont be worth much of anything.

He's a PPR must start the next two weeks LT will probably remain out. After that he's worthless in non-PPR leagues but could still hold value in PPR leagues as a RB3.

He's a RB2 no matter what LT does because LT won't catch passes in PPR. Staff will have to get him the ball because he's the most explosive player they have BAR NONE right now.

LT will still catch some passes just probably not as much as in the past. Sproles will have just about no value in non-PPR leagues.I just posted this link in the "Is LT done" section and I think it's very telling with regards to the role Sproles and LT will have when LT returns:

Serious question - have actually watched him run the ball? I love the guy and he's great at what he does but there's no chance that he's a legit starting RB in the NFL. He's not even on Reggie Bush's level and even though he can put up good points in PPR he's not going to be consistent even if he ends up with the full-time job.
