St. Louis vs Indianapolis Game Thread (preseason) (1 Viewer)

Figured I would start this thread.... Lots of interesting things going on in St. Louis regarding the WR core. Curious to see who is emerging as WR 1, as well as how Kendricks plays.

Long throw to Garcon from Painter. Pretty impressive catch falling away and maintaining possession. Coverage was tight.

Short pass across the middle to Amendola. Amendola got rocked but gets up and looks fine..

Pettis two targets, two drops.

that's the worry with those little slot guys...they get rocked from time to time...see Welker, Collie etc. etc.

Kendricks looking really good. Another pass for 15 yds.

Note to self: Move up draft board.

3rd down... another throw to Kendricks. Another 3rd down conversion.

Kendricks seeing a lot of action with 1st string. MSW is out there... Bradford hasn't even looked his way.

Rams offensive line looking really good. bradford has a ton of time and they are opening up decent holes for Williams.

Norwood looking fast. Hurtled a couple of guys on some of his runs. The Rams O-line is opening up holes everywhere on the 2nd string defense. Of course they were opening them up on the 1st string defense as well. If the Rams O-line play like that in regular season, SJax is going to be a decent RB2.

Edit: Flip side, Peyton is going to be throwing a lot as Indy isn't really stopping anything.

Josh Brown boots a 60-yd FG as time expires... He could have made that from 65 probably. Rams looked pretty impressive in 1st half.

Hendricks with 5 targets in 2 quarters. This guy may be a big late round TE this season.
2 targets in the first drive of the second half.. Can anybody watching tell us how he looks?
Good movement, good hands. Definitely looking at this guy. The announcers were talking about how the Rams are trying him in different positions, including out of the backfield lined up as a tail back. Sounds like they are going to use him in a lot of different looks.

To answer people's questions about the RB's -

Addai barely played

Brown had a few carries. He looked decent. Read his blocks well. Hit the hole and made his cut off of the block decisively.

Carter looked about the same as Brown, maybe not as decisive and quick.

Spann looked pretty rough on kickoff returns. I thought he has shown good vision on his carries though. He has looked as quick and powerful as any other Colts back (maybe a little more but tough to tell based on the reduced quality of the defenders). Solid overall.

Nobody has looked head and shoulders above anyone else. Addai will get hurt at some point and two of the three (Brown, Carter, Spann) will probably split time. My opinion as a Colts fan.

I thought the Rams O-line looked really good and even the depth looks very solid. Homers what's the no BS assessment, is it the colts are just that bad or are they a unit on the rise?Hendricks is playing like a vet. So far he looks like the best TE of the class.

Temper your feelings on the line play. The Colts pass rushers played 1 series I believe. They also had several starters not playing.

Remember, it's pre-season Game #1. The next 2 weeks will be more telling when the starters are likely to play more snaps.

Fist of all, it's Kendricks.

The line looked good against scrubs, but I feel confident in saying that the line is trending way up. They have a lot of money invested in it and plenty of youth that is only going to get better.
