Starting Maclin Vs. Dallas? (1 Viewer)

Let me see if I have this right:

McNabb's playing great and he's a good start.

DeSean Jackson, same thing.

Dallas has the 25th ranked pass yardage defense.

Playing at Philly.

Playing for the division lead, in a night game.

Westy might be limited.

Why do I get the feeling that this might be Manningham vs DAL Part II?

Wishful thinking or is there really something there?

Definitely worthy of consideration. It would depend on who else you have to start. He may get put into my lineup over Boldin if Q is a shaky start.

I'm thinking a high ceiling for him in terms of production this week.

Jenkins with safety help will "limit" DeSean this week. I really like Maclin and Celek for scoring opportunities.

At some point you've got to think that teams will start paying close attention to DeSean.
That is exactly what happened a few weeks ago against KC. KC doubled DeSean and Maclin scored 2 TD's.
I think this will be the Dallas game plan. They will take their chances with Newman vs. Maclin and Sensabaugh/Carpenter on Celek.

It was TB.
You sir, are correct. My Bad.

I have Wes walker and DeSean Jackson in my starting line up

But have to pick two more . I have to choose between (Hester , Smith, Maclin) but so far it Hester and Smith

Hester vs ARI

S Smith (nyg) vs SD

Maclin vs DAL

In the Manningham game it was Scandrick getting burned before they decided on Jenkins. I see Jenkins with help on Maclin and Newman one on one with DJ leaving the other SS for 8 in the box in normal situations. I am debating between Crabtree and Maclin in a PPR and so far leaning Crabtree.

 They'll pay extra attention to Maclin and go 1 on 1 with D Jackson? Well, then D Jackson is probably in for a big night.

As long as you're not benching him for studs, good bet.

I will be leaving him on my bench as I have Roddy, Calvin, Marshall, Smith (NYG) & Crabtree that I can start ahead of him (start 2)

Let me try to sort out the confusion here in Dallas' coverage schemes.

First of all, Newman will be manned up with Jackson for the majority of this game. Jenkins will line up with Maclin.

There are occasions that Wade likes to simply assign Newman to line up with the opponents #1 WR no matter which side they line up, as he has done with similar receivers in Carolina's Steve Smith and Redskins receiver Santana Moss with great success. I expect to see it again this week with Jackson.

As Bankerguy pointed out, Sensabaugh and Carpenter will share assignments to Celek. Expect him to be neutralized just as Carlson and Gonzalez were the last two weeks.

Rolled safety coverage will depend on the Eagles personnel on the field and the defensive play call.

In most cases, when there is a slot receiver in a three receiver set, the outside corner on the slot side will hand off deep coverage to the safety at the break of the slot receiver and undercut the slot receiver's pattern. This is where their interceptions have developed lately. If the ball is thrown deep to that side to the outside receiver, the safety has already rolled over the top while the slot corner has already dropped to cover the underneath once the outside corner has established position on his slot receiver.

This is something that has taken some time for the secondary to master, but they've been getting better and better with it from week to week and it has been producing results. It's difficult for the quarterback to read and determine the open receiver, especially with the pressure that the Cowboys have been bringing.

NFL Live demonstrated this quite well last night.

Would any of you guys play him over Smith(nyg) or Hester

Hmm. hadn't thought about starting him.

I almost always start a RB in the flex spot.

Starting A. Johnson, R. White and DeSean at WR, but need a flex with M. Lynch on a bye.

Was going to start Wells, but Maclin may be a better play. I don't usually like to start 2 WR's from the same team, but it may be the right play this week.

According to MyFBG, this is by far the correct play this week.

Thanks for posting...

I would not start Crabtree or Smith ahead of Mac this week

I sure hope your right Djax will come up big .Dallas has not seen this many weapons on a field at one time .send Mac and Djax deep hit the screen to Westy a few times .pull those saftys up ...And bingo its over .Dallas will struggle in coverge.

After giving some thought to your "bingo" reference, all in good-natured fun I thought it might be interesting to see how these players on the Cowboys defense perform tonight and how they might impact the game. Good or bad.Brooking, Keith LB

Igor Olshansky, DE

Newman, Terence CB

Gerald Sensabaugh, S

Orlando Scandrick, Nickel CB
