Starting Rashad Jennings Wk 5 Over ______________ (1 Viewer)

Looks like McFadden's out with the hammy and Reece is out with a knee. Raiders face the 30th ranked SD D. If I can get him, I'll likely start Jennings over Pierce and Tate in one of my PPR leagues.

What other RBs are you all thinking of sitting for Jennings in week 5?

Starting him as my RB2 over Doug Martin and Willis McGahee - PPR

Been going back and forth with these two

Knowshon Moreno and Fred Jackson (and Woodhead on waivers). Standard scoring league.

Waived Bernard Pierce for this spot start.

Despite getting Rashad'd last year a few times I have him this week. I think I've gotten 8 pts max out of my terrible RBs this year so why not.

Martin on bye, Ridley on suck.

This doesn't seem like a bad matchup.

Even with Pryor, McFadden caught 7 balls the 1st two weeks. Reece caught 4 balls the 3rd week. SD ranks pretty poorly against the run.

No Reece, Stewart hasn't played a down, seems like Jennings can get a lot of work here.

If Pryor is starting and DMC is inactive, Jennings becomes a good start over the typical RB2 or flex IMO. This is especially so, since Reece is out too. Pryor is a game breaker and opens up the running lanes. Jennings getting a ton of PT could be a huge beneficiary.

With Flynn or anyone else starting, I would avoid, given the OL is a patchwork mess right now.

Will depend on if Mr. Check Down aka Matt Flynn is the starter.
Rotoworld saying he's been demoted

"Matt Flynn has lost the Raiders' No. 2 quarterback job.
Flynn committed two turnovers and struggled to move the offense in a spot start last week. It was a bad enough performance that the Raiders are moving forward with undrafted rookie Matt McGloin as Terrelle Pryor's backup. With Pryor expected back in Week 5, Flynn will likely be inactive as the third-string quarterback."

Read a bulb that said Reece and Pryor were at practice today. Anything that points to Reece not being available in the event McFadden sits?

Yep, just read that Reece was back at practice today, though McFadden wasn't. Definitely tap the brakes on the Jennings wagon with Reece back. I had read earlier that they thought his injury was serious, but apparently two days off did the trick.

I'm reading on twitter that Reece actually put in a limited practice today.

Vic Tafur@VicTafur2 Oct
Wisniewski walking around practice with knee wrapped, FB Marcel Reece, who also had a sprained knee, is out here warming up

Tom Kessenich@TomKessenich2 Oct
Looks like Marcel Reece will practice in some fashion today. Curb those Rashad Jennings FA bids

Dave Richard@daverichard2 Oct
Darren McFadden didn't practice. Marcel Reece was limited. Terrelle Pryor full go.

Apparently Reece has been taking practice snaps at halfback. I had picked up Jennings with the intent of plugging him in this week, but I'm not going to anymore because I have this horrible feeling that Reece will get more snaps at halfback than him.

Edit: The shark play might be to pick up and start Reece instead, if you're desperate at RB enough to resort to this mess. I'm not that brave.

If Reece puts in a full practice tomorrow than he would indeed be the shark play. Last year when DMC went down, I believe Reece put up 450 yards in 4 games (with healthy amount of receptions to boot). He's by and far the superior talent and would the player to target regardless of the format.

EDIT: Reports are that he was moving around well at practice today.

With Peterson on bye, I'm between Jennings, Blount, Hillman, and Pead. Jennings is the front-runner depending on any Ridley/Pead news.

Big Reece fan here, I really think he might be the best RB they have, but they seem to prefer keeping him at FB?

Last year it wasn't just McFadden who got hurt, so was Goodson and not only that I think maybe even a 3rd stringer got hurt and Taiwan Jones had no clue.

Uhhhh I picked up Jennings to be my RB2 this week

With this recent news of Reece.....he's also still out on the WW?

i'm lost now :(

I picked up Reece over Jennings last week, figuring DMC was due to go down soon... when Reece got hurt and was "worse than McFadden's"; ofcourse I missed my chance to get Jennings. But Now Reece put in a 2nd straight limited practice today and is clearly better (when healthy) than Jennings. Hes on track to suit up but the game starts late your still risking a zero.

I don't think we know what will happen. Worst case scenario is Jennings shares with Reece I think.

I wish Reece was the only guy, he's awesome, but I still think even if he plays Jennings will get a decent enough load and still be better than the WW fodder out there.

4th year vet, lifetime 4.18 ypc, 71 career receptions, 7 TDs, two 100 yard games, decent situation, I'll take it.

glad i found this thread, picked up jennings since i have mcfadden and the raiders homer in our league drafted reece. was seriously considering starting him over trent richardson since it's PPR and seattle matchup was scaring me - definitely not doing that now, thanks!

Rashad Jennings is McFadden backup just like Goodson was last year.

Reece is a fullback and unless Jennings stinks or blows his knee he will only used to give him some breather or catch some passes, there's no timeshare or things like that.

Btw the Raiders worked out Bernard Scott yesterday.

True, it's definitely a different situation this year but Jennings is still a middling talent and OAK loves utilizing Reece in different ways when possible. Even when DMC was healthy through the first three weeks it was apparent as they utilized him (Reece) in the red zone with success.

This is false. OAK knows he's a match-up nightmare due to his versatility.

The key word in my post was red zone, as he has two touchdowns on the season.

I think he has a good shot for about 90 total yards with a 50/50 shot at a TD.

I'm tempted to start him over Ray Rice, but the whole we got to get Ray the ball talk from the Ravens won't let me pull the trigger.

with morris on a bye my only other option would be kendall hunter. reece is on the wire but id rather roll out jennings.

Debating playing RJ over Chris Johnson or J. Bell?? Thoughts?
yes, and yes

ETA: Johnson is not getting it done, and Bell will only get approx 10 carries. Jennings will be the focus point. He will get plenty of work rushing, and in the passing game.

Off the train; I'm rolling with Blount.

I think Blount is more talented, will probably get a greater percentage of carries, and plays for a better team.

I think starting Jennings over guys like MJD or Chris Johnson is wishful thinking.

Was debating starting Jennings over MJD for a second but decided not to. If MJD can't get it done against STL though, I'm tossing in the towel.

I still think Jennings is a good plug and play this week however.
