Stat Correction (1 Viewer)

So I lost to my best friend last week in the playoffs by a very slim margin. Then I get a call Friday saying my team was in the finals, and his got kicked out.

I went to investigate, and this is what I found. Apparently they took away 1 yard from Rashard Mendenhall, and he finished the day with 99 rushing yards, not 100. That left him 1 yard shy of the bonus, and means he lost to me by eight tenths of a point. Not only did he get beat, but he is now out of the money, because only the top 2 spots pay out.

I almost feel like I shouldn't even be where I am right now. Don't get me wrong, I am pretty glad to be in the finals, but I feel really bad that it had to happen like this. He is steaming mad, and I'm not sure what to do. Should I split my winnings with him, or buy him a steak dinner? All I could think of, was to say sorry.

One of Mendenhall's carries went for 9 yards and the ref's incorrectly spotted the ball one yard further and gave Pittsburgh the first down when it should have been 2nd and one. I forgot what actually went on that caused the confusion during the game but there definitely was confusion. Apparently the NFL reviewed the tapes and changed the scoring from a 10 yard carry to a 9 yard carry (which is what is actually correct.)

I just checked a few of my leagues and some have Mendenhall at 99 yards and others have him at 100 for that week. 99 is what he actually rushed for, so in your case I would not feel any guilt. Depending on the $ for 1st/2nd place and your level of friendship with him I think a nice steak dinner and a few beers would be nice, it is the Holiday Season after all!

You won fair and square. It was a correction... the only person who would have a right to be mad is you, if the mistake was never fixed. I don't think you owe him anything. I lost by 1 tenth of a point last week. This is in a league where I had Michael Vick and QB's don't get any points for rushing yards. (Something the commish overlooked and nobody noticed until 2 weeks in... so he just said he will change it next year). I would have won by almost 13 pts if I was simply given yards that should clearly be given. So... I have a right to be mad. lol Especially considering that is the only league out of 4 that I am not in the bowl!
