Stats that you won’t easily find: (1 Viewer)

I haven’t found these stats anywhere, but personally find them useful. Here is the APA for D/ST through week 5.

This is calculated by taking the total points scored by all D/STs against each team and dividing by the total number of weeks (taking BYEs into account).

Team APA Rank # WeeksOAK 19.5 32 4DET 15 31 5CLE 14.2 30 5TB 12.5 29 4SEA 12.25 28 4MIA 12.2 27 5ARI 11.6 25 5BUF 11.6 25 5PIT 11.25 24 4TEN 11 23 5ATL 9.75 21 4HOU 9.75 21 4CIN 9.5 20 4NYJ 9.2 19 5DAL 8.5 17 4DEN 8.5 17 4SF 8.4 16 5GB 8 15 5KC 7.75 14 4BAL 7.4 13 5CAR 6.8 12 5MIN 6 11 5NE 5.6 10 5WAS 5.4 9 5JAC 5.2 8 5NYG 3.75 7 4IND 3.6 6 5PHI 3.4 4 5STL 3.4 4 5NO 2.6 3 5SD 2.25 2 4CHI 1.6 1 5Surprises/Commentary:- You do NOT want to start your fantasy D against Chicago or Nawleans, unlike last year.

- Surprisingly, Seattle, Miami, Atlanta and Pittsburgh are relatively fair game thus far for your fantasy D.

- Absolute fantasy gold: OAK, DET, and CLE, after which there’s a drop off.

- Surprisingly unfavorable: GB and SF; they’re in the bottom half in terms of giving it up to fantasy Ds.

Thoughts?

That's why I love the DBBC of Den and KC. Both D's have been playing above average to very good. And their combined schedule is awesome: Weeks 6 through 16, they combine for 4 match-ups against OAK, 2 against CLE, 1 against ARI. The other 4 match-ups aren't as great (SEA, PIT, BAL, DEN/KC), but as you pointed out, SEA and PIT are not as formidable as one might expect. Averaged across the 11 games, that's an APA of 14.3 using your scoring system. My scoring system heavily weights points allowed, so I also expect DEN to outperform some of these projections. Here is their remaining combined schedule:

6: DEN hosts OAK

7: DEN @ CLE

8: KC hosts SEA

9: DEN @ PIT

10: DEN @ OAK (or KC @ MIA)

11: KC hosts OAK

12: KC hosts DEN

13: KC @ CLE

14: KC hosts BAL

15: DEN @ ARI

16: KC @ OAK

Nice find! I like that better than mine. Right now I have DEN, DAL, and NE. It leaves me with: 6: DEN hosts OAK (19.4)7: DEN @ CLE (14.2)8: DAL @ CAR (6.8)9: DEN @ PIT (11.3)10: DEN @ OAK (19.4)11: NE @ GB (8)12: DAL hosts TB (12.5)13: NE hosts DET (15)14: NE @ MIA (12)15: DEN @ ARI (11.6)16: DEN hosts CIN (9.5)
