Steeler Fans, Your team is better than you think (1 Viewer)

I've heard a lot of negative talk from Steelers fans in the last couple weeks, and I've got to tell you, I don't see any systematic problems in their pass protection.

I'm gonna go ahead and bump the Steelers to the #1 spot in the AFC right now if you don't mind.

Depending on what Denver does on defense going forward, their may be a miracle happening in the Mile High City.

At best, their pass protection is still mediocre in my mind. When you have a qb who is playing a game with a separated shoulder, this is not a good thing. I'm cautiously optimistic because I know the Steelers can compete with anyone in the league if Ben's healthy. However, I'm almost certain that Ben will not be healthy at some point in the season (if not most of the season).

Gees... I didn't realize Steeler fans needed a pep talk.

Where's the "Rams Fans, Your team is better than you think" thread?

Those folks need some cheering up.

If Ben is healthy, the offense is as going to be as prolific as any team outside of Dallas. I think the weather had something to do with things last night. But Ben is not healthy, so we'll have to see.

Are they the best team in the AFC? I have to say no, I think that's Indy. I also think the Chargers will rebound and be fine.

I also think that everybody is counting out the Patriots way too soon. Cassel is only going to get better and better. And their defense is so stingy. They're going to win a lot of games, and be a very tough out in the playoffs.

I have been saying all along that I didn't think the o-line was as bad as others were making it out to be. However it is still only 2 games and we've beaten the Texans and Browns. I think the Eagles will be a better test.

BTW- The Steelers claim that Roeth DOES NOT have a separated shoulder.

The steelers seem to always be consistent, but they need to learn to win the big games on a consistent basis.
Like the 5-1 record in Super Bowls?
Beat me too it. Last I check, nobody has more Super Bowls than the Steelers.

For all the talk of Ben's shoulder, he did as good a job as anyone in the league could have with that wind last night. He looked fine to me. He made all the throws, wasn't afraid to go deep, getting tight spirals into gusting, circling winds. Could the shoulder injury be overplayed?

I said the same thing. And I agree, its only 2 games.

I may need to issue a retraction on this thread, as I just watched footage of Ben being sacked by Mario Williams in Week 1 and Sean Taylor in Week 2.I also heard the disturbing stat that he is being sacked 1x every 17 drop-backs.Philly is not an opponent you want to see with these kinds of issues; particularly after the sloppy loss to Dallas (defensively speaking).I think I just figured out why Pitt is the dog in this game....

He is sacked 1x per 7.5 dropbacks, I think. His career average is around 1/11 dropbacks. His O-Line takes most of the blame, but Roethlisberger's sack problem is at least 1/2 his fault.

He has practiced fully all week
