That fumble was prolly as much Kemoeatu's fault as Mendenhall's. Clearly, he has to wrap up better though. He scored and had a couple catches. I'm still not sold on him, and Parker will certainly be the #1 this year barring injury, but reports on his demise are greatly premature.I haven't seen any of the game...but Mendenhall is getting ripped pretty good in the Mendenhall thread.Low YPC and a lost fumble early. But...it does look like he's come on a bit as the game progressed.
Edwards will be too busy picking himself up off the turf to pick up anything else.Other than one long Marshawn Lynch run the Steelers defense completely shutdown the Bills. I realize that TO didn't play but Trent Edwards looked horrible. He is going to have to pick it up or it will be a long year for the Bills.
Totally agree. He has shown too much to pass up.They also absolutely have to keep Stefan Logan. Make him the 4th string HB or something... the guy is too good on returns to let go. He could easily give them 30-40 yards a game (at least) in field-position upgrade over Wallace, Moore, Holmes, or Burnett and is really sure handed catching the ball. I'm not holding my breath hoping the ball doesn't hit the field every time he gets under a punt.
Fixed.Bills O has still not found end zone in preseason. Edwards had a pick 6. LB read it the whole way & Josh Reed wasn't even looking on route. Long Just another year for Bills fans.
Finally someone that agrees with me. I've been hoping they traded for McNabb with all the controversy he has had there, although it doesn't look like he'll be on the move. Was also hoping we'd fire **** Jauron and hire Shanahan or Gruden. I can't stand Jauron or Schonert anymore, they are just too conservative. And Edwards has been nothing more than a check down QB. He's been this timid since the first time he stepped on the field, yet everybody listens to the "experts" who talk about his composure. Throwing to a check down receiver isn't being composed, it's being scared. The only good thing to take from this if you're a Bills fan is that Maybin actually sacked Big Ben (a very tough QB to sack). That's pretty much it. Edwards was atrocious. The guy is WAY too cautious. Checking down on every single play instead of trying to stretch the defense. Lee Evans needs to be bumped way down. No way will Edwards ever take advantage of Evans's speed. He's just too afraid to throw downfield. I'm pretty well convinced that Edwards is NOT the answer at QB. We're stuck with him this year IMO, but they need to find someone else either in FA or the draft next year.
Shhhh, nothing else has worked against the Pats, so they're just playing bad on purpose. It's mind games man! Finally someone that agrees with me. You would think he would work on figuring out the 3-4 defense this off-season considering he was so terrible against it last year. Nope.2 weeks in a row against a very aggressive 3-4 defense and the Bills offense does nothing. I think these were very bad matchups for the Bills without TO and with a very inexperienced offensive line.Still doesn't give Bills fans much reason for optimism when the season begins, considering the Patriots, Jets, and Dolphins all figure to run similar defenses with 3-4 fronts that can bring lots of pressure from the edges.
Honestly, I am surprised Batch is still a backup.I would have thought one of these teams that needs a QB would call up Pitt and offer them something.GoBills02 said:Did anyone catch the Steeler announcers say the Steelers had the best 1-2 QB combo in the league (maybe) claimed Charlie Batch was the best back up in the NFL then said Ben Rothlisberger was the best quarterback. I'm all for supporting the team that's giving you checks, but come on, that was down right delusional!
What team would that be? (insert Buffalo here) lol
As far as better back ups, I'd take Brunell, Derek Anderson, Jon Kitna, David Carr, Jeff Garcia, and Kyle Boller as better back ups.

I agree the comment was ridiculous though I do think Roethlisberger is among the top 4-5 QBs in the league. However coming into camp I was very concerned about the Steelers backup QB situation. I didn't think that Dixon was ready and I wondered if Batch had anything left. After the first three preseason games I feel much better. Dixon has played well although I still think he is too raw but Batch has looked pretty good. Make no mistake if Ben goes down for any length of time the Steelers are in trouble but I would feel comfortable with Batch to come in for a game or two and hold down the fort.Honestly, I am surprised Batch is still a backup.I would have thought one of these teams that needs a QB would call up Pitt and offer them something.GoBills02 said:Did anyone catch the Steeler announcers say the Steelers had the best 1-2 QB combo in the league (maybe) claimed Charlie Batch was the best back up in the NFL then said Ben Rothlisberger was the best quarterback. I take Batch over Brunell, Kitna, Carr and Boller. I guess I would take DA over Batch but after last season (and this preseason) I am not so sure. I think Garcia is pretty good but I don't know if his style of play would fit the Steelers. What team would that be? (insert Buffalo here) lol

maybin was at the right place at the right time. wasnt like he chased ben down. The only good thing to take from this if you're a Bills fan is that Maybin actually sacked Big Ben (a very tough QB to sack). Only guy on that list I'd take over Batch, as of this date, is Garcia. And even then probably "just." He has the mobility to make plays behind this ragtag OL, but he doesn't have the arm strength to make the downfield throws off play action that Arians likes to run.(Batch barely does either anymore, but he's got more than Jeff.)Anderson is a smacked ###. Absolutely not a believer and I would have zero trust in him.I take Batch over Brunell, Kitna, Carr and Boller.
