Agreed. Heineken is better than Stella? No way.I've had decent Heinekens and bad Heinekens. All of the Stellas I've had were decent. None were skunky.![]()
Ratebeer gives it an 11 overall, but 88 within its ####ty style. Is it worse than any of the other mega market pale lagers?
YepWhat I hate about Stella are all the people who think they're drinking good Belgian beer when having one.
Why would we want to deconstruct a boilermaker?I like it.![]()
Even better with a double Jameson neat, as a deconstructed boilermaker. Yum...
because we're not sure if AJ Hammons will translate at the next level. Why would we want to deconstruct a boilermaker?
Only in the sense that they try to pretend it's something better. Is it worse than any of the other mega market pale lagers?
I am betting 99.9% of the people you think are thinking they are drinking good belgian beer are just trying to have a beer. What I hate about Stella are all the people who think they're drinking good Belgian beer when having one.
No. You're wrong.I am betting 99.9% of the people you think are thinking they are drinking good belgian beer are just trying to have a beer.
Nothing* is worse than Heineken. But Stella Artois is really badJust horribly bad. Worse than Heineken.
If you like Gulden, I think you'd like Kwak tooIf you like Belgian, try Gulden Draak
"Gulden Draak has a strong scent of alcohol, which hampers the ability to easily define its aroma."
"Gulden Draak also has a high alcohol content for a beer at 10.5%."

or Piraat Ale (from the same brewer)

Rochefort (6, 8 & 10, I've had the latter two) is also exceptional.
Rochefort Brewery (Brasserie de Rochefort) is a Belgian brewery which produces three beers designated as Trappist beers. The brewery is associated with the Rochefort Abbey, which originated in the thirteenth century; monks have been brewing beer at Rochefort since the sixteenth century, providing much of the income for the monastery.

Don't knock it 'til you try it.Why would we want to deconstruct a boilermaker?
I've had Heineken's at the brewery on tap, and they were pretty good. I had just spent the afternoon at the cafes, though, and was heading out to the red light district, so a Busch Light probably would have tasted good.Nothing* is worse than Heineken. But Stella Artois is really bad

As a bartender for 25+ years, I have no problem thanking you for your suggestion but please keep in mind we don't carry your Division II hot prospect on tap so telling everyone how great this beer is makes you sound like a tool.If you like Belgian, try Gulden Draak

I describe a Stella as a Heineken w/o the bitter aftertaste.Agreed. Heineken is better than Stella? No way.
It's better than Bud Light, Busch Light or Budweiser...
America!Guess which one of these is the most popular beer in the world? (It's changed in the last couple of decades, that's a huge hint)
