Stephan Ridley moving forward... (1 Viewer)

With Blount having the same amt of carries as Ridley... Is it time to cut ties with him? I am in a straight up scoring league and Le'Veon Bell is available. Ridley is behind Reggie Bush and Lamar Miller at this point. What say you sharks?

Id cut him asap for bell....right now im just stashing him on my bench and seeing if he gets going later. Got him as a throw in a week or so ago...wouldnt hesitate to cut for a clearly better option like Bell tho

I traded Andre for lfitz and ridley because Wilson was my rb2 and I had plenty of wrs (Cobb Gordon Decker)... I'm hoping the offense gets rolling with gronk

I'm not as high on Bell as some but I'd drop Ridley in a flash for him. At least you know Bell will have a defined role even if the Steelers stink. You have no clue about Ridley week to week and what his role will be, if any.

I think Ridley is still the best option for NE, but if/when he steps up his game is a real question mark. I would be hesitant to drop Ridley, but in leagues with short benches, that may be what it comes to. In your situation, I prefer Le'Veon Bell, so I would make that move.

Ridley is killing me this year. I'm fortunate to have depth, but I thought he was an incredibly safe bet for 1,100 yards and 10 TDs, basically to continue to do what was so successful last year. For whatever reason, and it can't all be because he fumbled in Week 1, they've decided to split the backfield role into three pieces now, and it might be four when Vereen comes back. Even though he clearly seems to be a very solid runner, he's just not getting used enough to warrant starting him. I'm not cutting him because who knows what can happen, but if I had to make a choice I'd drop him for Bell in a heartbeat.

I absolutely believe that ridley should be rostered--but I also believe that there is no way that Leveon should be on a waiver wire. If ridley is indeed your most droppable asset--you do it for a guy like leveon--but I'm curious to know what your entire roster looks like.

Ridley is the best they have when it comes to pure runner. Fumbling killed him early but the offensive weapons are hurt so offense doesn't need a pure runner right now. Once everyone is healthy I believe Ridley will have some good games. Will he ever be worth what he was before the season started no one knows. Ridley needs to show he wants the ball more. Blount seems to be running harder then Ridley. I am hoping Blount fumbles some more so Ridley can get 20 carries in a game.

i have the luxury of holding him now. I want to wait to see what the offense will look like when Gronk and Amendola get up to speed. hate to cut bait sooner than that.

yeah, I'm holding out hope. Might even start him this week, hope that McCoy can carry him again. I'll keep an eye on Boldens injury.... Pats NEED Ridley!!! Give him the rock!!!!

QBs Brees, Dalton, RBs Bush, L Miller, Ridley, WRs Graham, J Nelson, AJ Green, Decker, M Williams, K's Prater, Hartley, D 49ers, Texans.
Is there some rule that requires you to have 2 kickers and DSTs? If not, there's your drop.
exactly what i was thinking. Unless it's a 2 qb league--you probably don't need to constantly have dalton too. You only need him for 1 week when brees is on bye.

if it weren't for the schedule I'd be pouncing

NO @NYJ MIA PIT Bye @CAR DEN @HOU CLE @MIA @BAL vereen could be back @CAR

that's ugly

If Vereen is back in week 11, I think he resumes his role as the co-feature back/PPR guy. When the season started he had as big a piece of the pie as Ridley had in standard scoring and a bigger percentage than Ridley in PPR leagues. None of the trio of Ridley/Bolden/Blunt has emerged as "The Guy" while Vereen has been out, I think when healthy he slots right back where he was heading into week one, if not an even bigger role.

I'm sure people don't want to hear it, but Vereen still has more season to date points in PPR leagues than Ridley....

PPR: Would rather own Bolden and/or Vereen.

Only thing Ridley owners can pray for is if Blount's fumble is held against him being 'the closer' for the future. Otherwise, owners are doomed. Blount = clock killer. Bolden = comeback back. Ridley has twice as many carries in 1st half than 2nd half of games. To top it off, Ridley is far from guaranteed GL work.

That seems logical. Vereen has never been able to remain on the field for long, whereas Ridley has been relatively injury free. Last week was his first game missed due to injury, I believe. While I expect Vereen to work back into the mix, I do not expect him to render Ridley worthless. Ridley's lack of production has rendered Ridley worthless to this point, and he has never been a PPR guy, so if he is not getting into the endzone, his value is capped in PPR leagues.

If there has been some good news for Ridley owners, it is that Blount was not that special last week, and he dropped the ball. As Bolden recovers more fully, he is the real threat.

you are?
yeah--why? The post was about if Ridley is borderline droppable--if it could be for a guy like Leveon. I was curious to see a roster where Ridley was the most droppable asset. He posted it and he's rostering 2 kickers, 2 defenses, and dalton as a backup qb. In my opinion--it would be very easy to drop a kicker and pick up bell over Ridley. My point was that it would be very rare to find a team (with medium to deep benches) where Ridley should be dropped.

I just picked him up and dropped Pierce. My other RB's are MJD and Vereen. I have stud WRs and we only need to start 1 RB in this league.

He's killing me too but I'm gonna hold out..........keep hope alive.
Best game of the season coming this week.
That is not really saying much.

80 yards and 0 TDs? 100+ yards and 1 TD?
The Saints have given up some big gains to RBs but as everyone hopefully knows by now the defense is much improved.

Someone mentioned above Bolden as the comeback back; well the Pats may win this game but whether they're ahead, behind or close, they will keep pushing to score because they know what the Saints can do.

Ridley is droppable if the following holds this week:

a) Gronk is back thereby upgrading the whole offense

b) Ridley does not get all GL looks

c) Ridley and Blount share carries in any meaningful way, especially given Blount's fumble last week

d) Ridley is under 15 touches

18 for 90 and a score.

It's cliche, but you beat the Saints by controlling the ball with your running game. The Saints can be run on, and after Blount's fumble I expect the Patriots to let Ridley pound it.

I don't know that I'd drop him, but if option D holds true then he's no better than a RB4. He's another Pierre Thomas (when all the Saints backs are healthy).

Yes. Good comparison. If healthy I think this is the week Ridley needs to re-assert his role as the primary workhorse and GL back or this mess will only get bigger once Vereen returns.

I think Ridley is the perfect buy low RB. Blount is a joke. Bolden is only there because vereen is gone. Ridley will take over after Blount fumbles again.

Yeah, without the long screen passes and chance for YAC running it in from outside 20.

Benched him again this week but good to see him finally doing something. Maybe I'll hang on to him.
Maybe you'll hang onto him? He looks like the best runner the Pats have and it's not even close.

Nice call

He'll put up 10/30/0 next week. I have zero confidence in this whole NEP backfield situation. Chasing points never works fo rme.

Every year without fail, I draft this bum, he severely underperforms for several weeks, I drop or trade him, and then he goes off. He will be on my do not draft list next year and every year after that.

should have kept him last year when he had 1300yds 12td

Anyone think he goes back to being a RB2? He looked great and he's much much better then Blount. His 1 fumble out him in the dog house but I think he's out now. Ridley should take over goaline and 1 and 2nd down IMO after this game. Anyone got any insite?

Lol, seriously. Considering this is his 3rd year in the league and his rookie year he was clearly fighting with Vereen for backup carries, I have no clue what this gus is talking about.

What I like about Ridley is that the only upcoming team the patriots play ranked better than 18th(fantasy) stopping the run is next week, against the Jets. Except for Week 16/17 which don't matter for fantasy. So he has a whole schedule full of good match ups after next week.

he's still splitting early down work with Blount . . .I don't like it . . .

smells like another 14/52/0 next week . . .
