Just read this on rotoworld about Steve Smith PHI.

Adam Schefter revealed on the ESPN Football Today podcast that Eagles WR Steve Smith and DE Juqua Parker as well as Colts DE Jerry Hughes were shopped at the trade deadline...

Smith will collect $2 million guaranteed as the Eagles' fourth receiver this season. Jason Avant is signed through 2014, so Smith will almost certainly be playing elsewhere in 2012.

He had microfracture surgery, but I am not sure of the exact timeframe, but it was sometime in 2010. So not sure of the medical prognosis.

What does the SP think of his talent? Could he be in demand this offseason? Where could he end up?

I think he will still have a bit of a demand after this season. However, its unfortunate due to injury, and players ahead of him, that he isn't able to showcase his skill this year. Looks like another ex-pro bowl back up signing for the eagles (ronnie brown, vince young, steve smith) that isn't really doing much. I think Smith NOT being in NY is the main positive of him being in Philly. I could see many WR hungry teams taking a shot on him to be their WR2 with WR1 upside next year (Washington, Rams, Denver, etc, etc)

With the emergence and continual improvement in Cruz I would HIGHLY doubt the Giants would sign Steve Smith back onto the team. Not unless he was set to take a significant pay cut. Why pay a guy a couple of million when the guy making 300,000 can do the same job?
