Comedian Steven Crowder mercilessly tore into so-called “social justice warriors” when they disrupted his opening remarks within seconds of him taking the stage.

Crowder was scheduled to “tell some jokes” and discuss free speech at the University of Massachusetts on Monday night alongside other speakers, including conservative firebrand Milo Yiannopoulos and former philosophy professor Christina Marie Hoff Sommers. However, the comedian quickly ditched his prepared material to give his vocal critics a “reality check.”

“Do you have any idea, sir, how pathetic it must be to be you? These people wanted to hear a few jokes, some thoughtful discussion, but your head pops off the pillow in the morning with, ‘How can I be a professional victim today?’ Let me go in and screw with their act just because, oh my god, your parents didn’t tell you that your opinion wasn’t worth that much,” Crowder said.

For emphasis, he added, “I’m not your gender studies professor who has to cater to your trigger warning, microagression, safe space bulls**t!”

It wasn’t long before Crowder was apparently accused of being a “racist.”

“Oh, I’m a racist…that’s a new one. Where’d you learn that, in social human studies 101?” the comedian asked mockingly.

But the bigger issue, Crowder explained, is that the left is now “openly against” free speech and the open debate of ideas.

“You’re not fighting for free speech, you’re not fighting for rights — you’re fighting for the right to be a p***y and not hear opinions that you don’t like,” he said.

“Alright, I’m done,” he concluded.

The intolerance of the supposed tolerant left has been growing more and more.  People feel so empowered to call others names or attack them for having a differing opinion.  It seems like a large group of people spend their days actively looking to be offended.

I don't know who this person is, but if he's traveling around with Milo Yiannopoulos, he almost certainly welcomes this sort of disruption.  This type of conservative bomb-thrower has a symbiotic relationship with SJWs.

That said, his last line is a perfectly reasonable restatement of the motivation of too many folks.

Supposedly a comedian who released a selectively edited video that he was attacked by leftists and couldn't keep a gig with Fox News.

December 2012 union protest[edit]

In December 2012, Crowder and members of Americans for Prosperity were involved in an altercation at a demonstration in Michigan concerning the state's recently passed right-to-work law.[8] The incident began with an attempt by union activists to tear down the Americans for Prosperity tent, which was eventually successful. During the altercation, Crowder was punched several times by a union activist. A video of the incident released by Crowder was found to have been selectively edited, as Crowder apparently cut footage of the alleged assailant falling to the ground and getting back up, right before throwing the punches at Crowder.[9] Crowder then released an unedited copy of the video.[10] [...]

Departure from Fox News[edit]

In October 2013, Big Journalism reported that Fox News had dropped Crowder. This was announced shortly after Crowder made negative statements about Fox News host Sean Hannity.[1]

Of course these nitwits are just a very vocal minority.

Never heard of the guy, but now I'm his biggest fan..

There appears to be no mention of what the heckler(s) were saying in the article. Anyone know what their problem was?

Thank God someone has finally come along to put those social justice warriors in their place.

If we are to win the vital war against social justice, we need more brave men like this, men who act courageously and selflessly and certainly not at all in an effort to self-promote because they know there's a ton of conservatives who eat this stuff up. A social justice warrior warrior, if you will.

If you're willing to say that these people are a fair representation of "the left" are you willing to say that WBC is a fair representation of "the right"?
Oh sorry...I was laughing at the whole back and forth not specifically what you said.   See underlined

Thank God he's a trained comedian too!  I mean, who else would have the razor-sharp mind to lampoon "safe spaces" and "trigger warnings?"  Is America even ready for such a unique, raw, and edgy take?

My favorite thing about all this nonsense is that I know you meant for the bolded to apply only to one side of the debate but it is just as applicable to the other side- the people who scour every college newspaper and social media feed in America searching for examples of political correctness run amok so that they can point and yell about how the end of civilization is near because some college kids whined about something.

At least the people on one side of this nonsense have the defense that they're like 19 years old. The people on the other side are usually full grown adults.

I think I am being confused with Card Trader and the way I quoted may have added to the confusion...sorry..

He made negative statements about Sean Hannity?  The horror of that....

He has over 190,000 Twitter followers. Figured those type of numbers would give someone like you  a pants tent

I think we need a different name for these idiots. Even folks on the left such as Bill Maher have been critical of these clowns. They are extremists.

Crowder was scheduled to “tell some jokes” and discuss free speech at the University of Massachusetts on Monday night.
I'm sure that was his intention, and this rant was just an unplanned, off-the-cuff reaction to the completely unexpected heckling from the crowd of students at UMass.

Are there ANY conservative comedians who are actually funny? I can't think of one.

Dennis Miller? No.

Adam Carolla? Not so much.

Anyone?

Indeed, conservatives and humor, not so much, as evidenced by the usual suspects here, unless you consider laughing emojis for every post humor, but I digress...

I don't know the answer but for some reason conservatives have yet to have anyone even remotely approach the success of Bill Maher or The Daily Show.  Fox's answer to The Daily ShowThe 1/2 Hour News Hour  was a miserable failure and couldn't even find an audience on Fox, being cancelled after 15 episodes (and not surprisingly, Dennis Miller was a contributor).

One would think the Democrats: Hillary, Bernie, Harry Reid, Pelosi, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz would be a treasure trove of comedic opportunities but no one on the right has stepped up in 2016 for some reason.

That's because Hillary doesn't like people making fun of her.
