Rams signed a back off the practice squad, not a great sign for Jackson to be active Sunday.

No Jackson? Rams promote RB Ogbonnaya to active roster

In a sure sign of concern over Steven Jackson’s availability for Sunday’s home game against Seattle, the St. Louis Rams have promoted rookie running back Chris Ogbonnaya to the active roster from the practice squad.

Ogbonnaya, a seventh-round draft pick from the University of Texas, got some practice reps with the No. 1 offense late in the week. On Saturday, as the Rams’ completed their walk-through at Rams Park, Jackson’s condition was described as status quo _ no change.

Jackson did not practice all week because of back spasms.
==========Didn't see a mention hee, but remains kind of important. He hasn't practiced the last two days.

Still no Jackson on practice field at Rams Park

By Jim Thomas

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

For the second day in a row, running back Steven Jackson did not participate in practice Thursday at Rams Park as he continues to get treatment for back spasms.

Coach Steve Spagnuolo normally doesn’t use players on Sunday if they can’t practice during the week. With just one full-blown practice left this week, Jackson is running out of time. Then again, if there’s one player Spagnuolo might make an exception for, it’s Jackson.

Spagnuolo said Jackson was feeling better Thursday.

* Right tackle Jason Smith (concussion) also was held out of practice. He is still experiencing post-concussion symptoms and won’t be cleared to play until he has passed a neurological exam. If Smith can’t go on Sunday against Seattle, Adam Goldberg will start at right tackle and Mark Setterstrom at right guard.

* Richie Incognito (foot) is increasing his drill work, but has yet to practice and appears at least a week away from returning. He will miss his fourth straight game Sunday.

* Fullback Mike Karney (neck) has yet to practice this week and looks doubtful for Seattle. TE Eric Butler, promoted from the practice squad Wednesday, has been working strictly at fullback this week, although it’s uncertain that he will have the new position down in time to be active Sunday.

* Spagnuolo altered the team’s usual schedule Thursday. There were no post-practice meetings, allowing the players to get home a few hours earlier for Thanksgiving.

I'm not one to follow twitter, but I've gone on SJax's account a few times to see what he's saying-- and it seems from his recent posts- that he's just sore and getting rested... He went out and did charity work on Thanksgiving, etc... so I don't think it's a big deal...

by the way, from the twitter stuff, though alot of it I can't understand what he's talking about with other people, he seems like a really cool guy...

I read on rotowrong that he didn't practice on Friday either. If he's out is either Darby or Gado worth picking up?d
Looking through Pro Football Focus, Darby and Gado have seen the field equally the past few weeks. They've been in on about 5 plays over the past 4 weeks, SJax never comes out of the game.

Expect him to play and have a huge day simply because I need him to have a bad day.

Sorry to go off topic.

Still think he'll end up playing, but if he doesn't, I urge people not to expect anything from Gado or Darby. If Jackson doesn't play, the team as a whole will flounder and I don't expect either of them to have an opportunity to produce.

Hope he gets better 'til Sunday. :goodposting:

If Jackson's innactive...

Run to your line up and get him out...

Then...

Run to the waiver wire and get the seahawks defense. They should make up for missing s jax from your line up.

Ironically I own S-Jax and they guy I'm playing has the Seahawks D on his bench (right now for the Steelers)!I think he will go, if it was a road game I would guess not. I'm hoping the coaching staff was just nice to him on this holiday week since he's a beast even though the team is terrible and he has shown no signs of giving up on them. Remember Linehan lost the respect of guys like Holt, S-Jax and Bulger. If Spags hopes to keep his job it helps to keep S-Jax happy. Plus he's punishing defenses like they slapped his momma, a nice quality in any player, let alone your star RB!d

If there is a such thing as a Rams insider is there a shark pickup here? I face an SJax owner in a key game to decide the division and a large payday so I'm rooting for inactive. In another league my own injuries have hit hard and I could use more RB depth. I'd think the Rams fall behind making whomever their check-down RB is the better play.

Almost always a bad sign when a team adds depth from the practice squad just before the game - usually means the first option isn't going to play.
Damn!Turner now Jackson...conspiring to keep me out of the playoffs.
I hear ya, the byes weeks were all extremely close loses that if I didn't have a guy out his 1 extra point would have won it for me, now I lose S-Jax and have to face Seattle's D in a must win. This is why I hate fantasy football. 3rd in power ranking but only have 5 wins.

d

:wall: Now I have to flip a coin & decide between Hightower or Beanie knowing full well I'll choose the wrongguy...fun times (yeah, I know, no one cares)
