Steven Jackson to return this week (1 Viewer)

Linehan just saidat his news conference that there is a very good chance Steven will play this week. HALLALUJAH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't see any reason for him playing this week if he is anything less than 100% healthy. They are 0-7 and on a bye next week, sitting him gives him two more weeks rest.

Jackson only played a couple of weeks before he went down. He was running extremely hard and looked great. I am only wanting decent numbers when he comes, with gradual progression. 75 yds and a td will be fine for this week, then in week 16, 150 yds, 8 rec for 80 yds and 3 tds will do. :thumbup:

This game will be a Shootout, so if he plays, start him. The Ram WR's are even a better play.
Shootout? Prediction:W/ Jackson...Rams 6Browns 37W/out Jackson...Rams 6Browns 37It will be a blowout. Rams stink to high heaven, S. Jackson should sit the rest of the year, no playoffs and that's a fact.

Why should he sit the rest of the year if he is healthy enough to play? Dont you think the guy is DYING to get out there and compete. He is a professional athlete, not some wussy wimp. You dont think he is dying to help get that 0 out of the win column for his team?

Pay no attention to Keith Lewis he's been overwhelmed by the pure excitement his 9ers provide every week.

I am very, very close to dropping Leonard. Without the catches that SJ recieves the RB in STL is garbage.
SJ wasn't getting many catches before he went down.
SJ was garbage before he went down.
132 yards in his last game. If that's garbage, I can't wait for him to be decent.
For a guy that was drafted #2 overall in most leagues, yes, that was garbage. And that was his best game of the season.

I assume you don't watch a lot of Cleveland games. They could not hold you, me and 9 other guys on this board to 6 points.

I am very excited to see Jackson back. I am also excited to see the Rams change their gameplan around to get Jackson involved more. Of course neither of these are gonna happen this weekend more than likely.

How does everyone think he will do for the rest of the season? I like his schedule (except for last 2):

CLE

Bye

@NO

@SF

SEA

ATL

@CIN

GB

PIT

Those are most people's championship weeks.Unless he suddenly received an offensive line, I'm not buying. I think most owners will still demand the price of a top 5 rb and IMO he isn't worth that. I don't care who he plays-that team looks to have an atrocious offensive line. It'll be very hard for him to run behind those guys and if the first three weeks are any indication he won't be used much in the passing game. Not sure what's going on but this team is pathetic.

The Rams are 2 O-lineman and a new HC away from being a 12-4 team.
WHOA WHOA WHOA :rolleyes:
They have given up on Linehan. The Rams have loads of talent when healthy. Pace went out in week one. Their backup OT Steussie went out in pre season. They lost 3 starting interior lineman. Sjax was hurt in week 3. Bulger has had broken ribs since week 2. Both starting CB's have been out all season ( one to suspension , one to injury. They just came back this past week ). No team in the history of the NFL could overcome this much adversity. Plus, their HC blows. They have pretty much given up , evident by their effort.

He played in 3 games. Totally sucked in the first two, improved to blowing chunks in the third.

Blowing chunks? 132 yards is blowing chunks? Seems like you just have blind hatred Bob.

Methinks you got burnt by him weeks 1 and 2 and are just bitter now.

I don't own him. I didn't draft him because I thought he was quite overrated coming into this season. If that qualifies as hatred then so be it. He totaled 100+ yards in one of his three games. The team is in shambles, they have no offensive line, the coach has seemingly lost his team and the qb has broken ribs. Perhaps my "bitterness" is bliding to the logic of assuming he'll come back and pick up where he left off last season. Would you really be happy getting 13 points every week from your #1 rb? Is that something you want from a player drafted #2 overall? Fantasy points are not dependent on the talent of the players themselves...else Gore would be running circles around most players. It is a team effort to make a guy into a fantasy stud. Steven Jackson's team is a wreck. I don't expect it to stay THIS bad but I highly doubt they'll go on a massive winning streak. If you can find someone willing to dump SJax cheaply then there is no reason you shouldn't acquire the guy. I think most guys are still going to demand a high price for their first round draft pick and IMO he isn't worth the price most will ask.Without touchdowns, his value absolutely plummets-and this team doesn't look like they're going to score points by the bunches.

Problem is you're assuming he's my number 1. Or anyone's number one. I can guarantee you he's not. At this point, he's my #4. Probably not much higher for anyone else. So yeah, I'll take 13 points a week from my #4 RB.In the time he's been gone, most of his owners have found some kind of solution at RB. I don't think anyone was leaving the slot blank while they awaited his return. At this point, he's a bonus. No longer anyone's #1 back, just a bonus.

I don't expect him to come back and start running for 100/1 every week. But I'll gladly take an average of 75/0.5 or even 60/0.25 over what he's gotten me the past 4 weeks.

Duh, I traded down and got R.Brown (Late first) and an extra 3rd (A. Peterson). Then I traded Peterson for LT and Brown before he got injured for LJ. I am so smart and I knew exactly who to take and when to trade. Having hindsight is the best.

why would any owner want Sjax back when he could have a couple more weeks to heal.
Why do you assume if he plays he's being brought back too soon? What if he's ready and a couple more weeks aren't needed? I see no reason the Rams would rush him back. If he's not ready, I hope he sits. But, if he is, I could sure use him with Ronnie Brown out and Edge on a bye.

Had I done a draft, I would've taken Gore, Addai or Henry. Yep, my guys would have busted as well. Instead I did an auction and paid big money for a sure thing-Tomlinson.

It has nothing to do with hindsight. As I stated in my post above yours, I would have taken other guys that have not fared so well either. Did people really expect SJax to get 90 receptions again? That's unheard of for a rb. Did people expect him to lead the league in yards from scrimage again? IMO the guy had a better chance to fall back than climb forward.

It doesn't matter what moves you've made. In most leagues, he was drafted in the first round as your #1 rb. Perhaps you had such an amazing draft you can throw away your first round pick but most in most leagues owners aren't so gifted. The reason he is now your #4 is because he flopped miserably and you've made do. It's good you've managed to move on-that's a sign of a good owner-but that doesn't change the fact he was/is a bust.

I doubt anyone seriously thinks he's going to set the world on fire and be the #1 RB for the rest of the season. At this point I'm sure his owners just want the chance of double digit production from a spot they are probably getting nothing from right now.
