Steven Jackson to return this week (1 Viewer)

How does everyone think he will do for the rest of the season? I like his schedule (except for last 2):CLEBye@NO@SFSEAATL@CINGBPIT
Week 9: GTD, doesn't play.Week 10: ByeWeek 11: Starts, reaggravates injuryWeek 12: Questionable all week, gtd, maybe plays.Week 13: Put on IR to avoid further injury.
Negative Nelly. Why must you rain on our parades?

NOTE: At least the Wk 8 CLE @ STL game is a 1pm game and we'll all know if he's active on Sunday morning........would have sucked if it was a late game.

So, assuming SJ is active...........Are you:

A-Starting him........because I've got nobody else (inj & bye wks will probably force me to start him)

B-Starting him.......I've got other options, but he's the best option

C-Benching him......I've got better options & going to wait and see (worried about re-injury & STL in general)

So who do you trade to get him? I had an owner offer me S. Jax and P. Rivers for Portis and Baltimore D. But is that worth it? Without the TDs, Portis's yards are pedestrian.

I have westbrook, a. green, and j. lewis as other RBs.

Linehan has repeatedly stated that he will not ease Jackson back into the games. He wants SJax healthy so there is less chance for reinjury when he gives him all the carries, so if he's playing he's at least 95%. Losing Pace hurts the passing game more than the run, but the real problem w/ the O-line before was Incognito being out at the start of the season. Get ready for a big second half!!

Per Fanball this morning!

Steven Jackson owners are very close to getting their first-round pick back. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the Rams running back will return from his slightly torn groin this week against the Browns. Jackson has missed the last month because of the injury.

Our View

Jackson has chosen a heck of a week to come back because Cleveland has allowed a 100-yard rusher every game this season. Assuming he makes it through practice without incident, Steven should return to your lineup right away.

As an owner who traded for SJ last week, I can only hope he is back to 90-100% this week against the Browns

Had I done a draft, I would've taken Gore, Addai or Henry. Yep, my guys would have busted as well. Instead I did an auction and paid big money for a sure thing-Tomlinson.
Tomlinson had fewer total yards after his first 3 games than Jackson did.I don't think anyone is saying Jackson is a better back than Tomlinson, but if you thought Jackson looked like crap his first 3 games, what does that make the sure thing, Tomlinson?

HOUSTON (AP) — St. Louis Rams offensive lineman Claude Terrell was arrested on charges of assaulting his wife at a suburban Houston hotel early Tuesday morning.

Police in the suburb of Webster said they found a woman with "obvious signs of physical injury" after responding to a disturbance at a Hampton Inn. The woman, who said she was Terrell's wife, told police he had assaulted her.

Terrell was found at another nearby hotel, where he was arrested and charged with assault-family violence, a class A misdemeanor, according to police.

The 6-foot-2, 330-pound Terrell has appeared in six games with three starts for the winless Rams this season.

Terrell was already on probation from a 2006 assault causing bodily injury to a family member charge, according to court records. He was given a $1,000 fine and two years probation for that charge in February.

so... how many O-lineman does that make it? Yeeesh.

Linehan just saidat his news conference that there is a very good chance Steven will play this week. HALLALUJAH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why would they bring Jackson back this week when they are on bye next week? They are already 0-7. Why risk your franchise player when you could give him 2 extra weeks of rest? With these kind of decisions no wonder this team is in shambles

Because I traded him away week 5 to "win now" and haven't won since. if he comes back now and goes off, I'm a MORON. Could very well be.

 What if they've been overly cautious so far and he's 100% for this week?

Tomlinson was the #15 rb after playing the Bears (before their d imploded), New England and GB. Jackson was #23 and played Carolina, SF and TB.

Couple of questions since I haven't been paying attention:

Is Incognito back?

-If so, has there been any marked improvement in the line since he returned?

Other than the arrest posted above, has there been any more recent loses to the OL?

Was Terrell any good? Is he going to be missed if he misses time?

-If he misses time, it won't be this weekend, right?

And this is likely speculation, but what's Leonard's role this week? I would assume, as others have said, if SJax is back it's because he's ready to go, not just 75 or 80%. So I would think Leonard becomes a Betts type player this week and forward unless SJax gets hurt again. Correct?

For what it's worth (he sucks as an Olineman), the Rams cut Claude Terrell today.http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/st...56?OpenDocument

Wow. When you're an offensive lineman and even the Rams don't want you, there's not much hope for a career in the NFL. Hope he saved whatever signing bonus he got.

:shock:sorry for the hijack...but I've heard this so often about Cleveland Olinemen over the years it made me laugh. Thankfully it looks like we have a solid line now. /hijack

Yes-
If so, has there been any marked improvement in the line since he returned?
Some, Incognito is VERY aggressive and is the tone-setter for the line. Leonard (who is amazingly slow) had 100 against ARI in his first game back, but the next two (BAL and SEA) were terrible, they were out of the game because of the QB turnovers.
Other than the arrest posted above, has there been any more recent loses to the OL?
Romberg is questionable with two sprained ankles, his backup is last year's starting center who has been playing guard.
Was Terrell any good? Is he going to be missed if he misses time?
No. He and Linehan got into an argument last week in practice, and if not for Romberg's questioned availability, I think he'd already be gone. Even without the arrest, I thought they were just waiting for the bye week to give themselves an extra week for whomever they bring in.

70/30 he will no longer be empoyed. Area columnists were calling to release him last week after the Linehan argument.

Linehan has been quoted (for all you "LINK?" people, search for it yourself at STLtoday.com) saying that the Rams would not bring SJax back until he was physically ready to fill the roe he had when he was injured. That's about as set in stone as NFL coaches ever get.
