Steven Jackson's outlook (1 Viewer)

He is getting the touches no doubt about it. They are giving him at least 20 carries a game and he is getting receptions as well, but his schedule gets tougher from here on out and he hasn't been scoring tds. How do you gage his value in the future?

I personally think he is a sell high cantidate. He has had a cake schedule. I actually expected more from him coming off games against the Lions, Packers, Cards, and 49ers. He should have more then 1 TD right now.

take this with a grain of salt if you must (im a jackson fan) but i notice he does very well against tough defenses, he has had great games in the past against some of the 'tough' matchups.

if you have him, hold on to him, dont think you want to be buying now though as he is one of the few guys you can count on for 120+ yards a week

I have Jackson in my "TD" heavily weighted league. He can not punch it in from the 1 yard line. Look at all the runs he has had from inside the 5 yard line. He does not get low enough. He has alot of oppurtunity without much success.

Yeah, this one really depends on your scoring system. My league has a wacky cumulative yardage bonus after 100, so SJax is actually RB4 and clearly worth holding since he consistently gets bonuses.

In a more TD-heavy league, though, I would be concerned. My main problem is Linehan, as he has a history of terrible red-zone offense.

How many GL carries has he gotten?

We get a 10 point bonus at 100 rushing yeards in the league I have him in.There seems to be a consiracy to keep him under 100 though, Stephen Davis is in on it too,

Quite right, Josh. While Mike Martz was pass-crazed, he reverted to running the ball inside the 5. Linehan's history has been trying to get a little "too cute" inside the 5, with play action passes and fade routes to the corner of the end zone.

He's #4 in my league, a bit lower on a PPG basis. Tough to sell him now b/c you won't get the guys above him in return and there are very few RBs out there that have no or very little competition for touches.

I expect him to finish about #6 to #8 by year-end, which isn't bad as he was about the 6th to 8th player taken. Could be a lot worse. He might be higher if the Rams stop with the one-run-and-done garbage at the goal line.

If somehow you can get Tomlinson, Portis, Rudi, LJ (if healthy), Tiki in return I'd do it, but other than that he's a hold.

He seems to be a bit underappreciated as well, considering the lack of TDs and Davis signing still. He hasn't had that huge game yet.

He does have a tougher stretch coming up on the schedule, including a bye though. I wouldn't expect the world but he'll be RB1 material.

i think he is tied for 1st in combined yards...

its important to remember that some of that was while STL struggled first two weeks, & bulger is looking more comfortable (i interpret this as a positive for jax going forward)...

also pace missed a game, & there center was knocked out for year already but incognito is looking good & making for a smooth transition...

i think if he keeps getting the touches (& i don't see a compelling reason to suggest he won't), he should continue to be among league leaders in yards...

he isn't a great short yardage & goal line runner (dances at times & doesn't get very low, with somewhat upright style)... there is a chance that davis could be worked into mix & steal some goal line carries later in season...

linehan employed several backs at previous stops in MIN & MIA...

how do you think jackson will finish compared to all the other rbs in the following leagues

yardage heavy leagues

ppr leagues

td heavy leagues

I was dying for a RB and just dealt for S Jax

Traded J Lewis, S Smith and S Moss for S JAx, Fitz and Mason

I am happy with the deal - WRs are too unpreictable and I still have D Jax.

Even though Jax has not lit the world on fire he is one of the better RB that can actually be had in a deal I have found. Go get him if you need a top RB
