Steven Seagal: American hero, Ambassador, from Russia w/love (1 Viewer)

This should end well

Who better to turn to when things are in a tight fix than someone who brings together the holy trinity of martial arts prowess, unparalleled acting skills and Buddhist calm?

Little surprise then, perhaps, that when Vladimir Putin needed someone to act as a bridge in his dealing with the pesky Americans that he suggested the veteran martial arts actor Steven Seagal. For some reason, American officials were said to be shocked by the idea.

The Akido thing is so strange on two counts.

1) Akido has been proven time and again to be a useless fighting technique as it only has any use if a fighter runs at you full speed which is why akido is never used in any fights.

2) The Russian military already trains in combat sambo, which at this current moment in time is the most impressive fighting skill in MMA thanks to the dominant performances of the dagestani fighters.

One of the funniest screenplays I ever read was called Van Damme Vs. Seagal. The titular characters are neighbors in L.A. in the midst of a bitter feud, with Segal sneaking into JCVD's house and putting up posters of Under Siege, tossing water balloons filled with his own urine into JCVD's backyard and relentlessly teasing his nemesis that he's bedded 5,000 women vs. JCVD's measly 4,998.

Wish they woulda made that movie.

makes sense. that's basically what used to happen in seagal movies, where he would stand in the middle of a room and each bad guy would run at him one by one and he sent them flying. Now in his movies, it's kind of the same, except he's sitting down.
