Sticking with a player you really like (1 Viewer)

How often do you stick with a player you may personally like or just want to prove you made a good draft pick or pickup despite poor performances?

Who are those players?

more often than not, its not a matter of sticking with a player, its being in leagues where the other owners would rather see you twist in the wind / arent going to help you out of a bad draft decision. guys like coleston and grant come to mind.

you may personally like? Of course! Best example, I sat on Turner until he was moved out of San Diego. Countless "if he was good he'd be the starter" posts.... Yeah.. displace LT in his prime.or just want to prove you made a good draft pick? No! Never let ego be a factor.ETA: By "personally like" I mean that I believe the player has the skills to succeed but for whatever reason doesn't have that full opportunity at present.

For the past 3 years or so, Big Ben was like smack to my FF teams. He had big games at times, but better options were definately there a few times in my drafts, and I still targeted him. If he wasn't suspended this year, he would probably be on team................again.

"Damnit Elaine, that wasn't gibfunk, it was the YAM,YAM"

I have a list a mile long from my dynasty league.

Braylon Edwards and Ted Ginn were my first two. It is a return yardage league and I bragged about what a steal I had in Ginn the year he was proclaimed a "starting

WR" and full time returner. Then in week one, the Dolphins let someone else return kicks without any warning and I lost a close matchup with like 3 points from Ginn. I started these two off and on for two years and just didn't know what to do with them. Finally last year I cut Ginn and then this preseason I traded Edwards for a 3rd round rookie pick.

Similarly I held onto and played Nick Barnett through an entire crappy season waiting for him to "turn it around"....he never did and I left a lot of points on the bench at LB.

This year, I find I'm sticking with MJD almost no matter what, but he is my only real RB after Reggie got hurt, so it is really not a tough decision. My other two options are Brandon Jackson & Jonathan Stewart. :hifive:

So far this year its been Charles, Harvin and Celek for me. Also Wallace, but I expected a slow start there. I guess I kinda did with Charles too.

For me its Megatron and Ray Rice. I have them both in a few leagues. I keep picking them and rooting for them even though they've just plain sucked this year.

J.Stew has found his way on my teams his first and second seasons. Kellen Winslow, Eddie Royal, and Ahmad Bradshaw over the past couple years. Bradshaw might pay off this season, J.Stew has had flashes, Royal/Winslow have been meh.

I had Royal his rookie year and he blew up... so last year I kept him around WAY too long... Same with Lance Moore. I kept expecting both of them to crank it up and go back to being productive WR's... never happened obviously. Don't have Royal this year but I'm glad he's getting passes thrown his way.

Yeah I was pretty much in the same boat. I bought into the rhetoric of "we are going to use him like wes welker" without really realizing that basically BMarsh was both welker and moss in that offense. I had a dirty love affair with Moore that should have definitely ended abruptly but didn't as well.

Since when is it the responsibility of other owners to help you out.
